I'm kidding, it's totally up to you. But I can give you a recommendation as soon as I have played Hollow Kinight. Just got it a few mins ago.
Ok, guess you've already made your decission.
To put it into a nutshell: You might feel lost at the start in both games. Hollow Knight is more a mainstream 2D platformer. Fighting is on a much higher priority than Rain World. Game mechanics remind me of Dark Souls, where you have to learn fighting pattererns to defeat your enemies while Rain World is more random. You never know what happens next. The difficulty seems to be much higher than in Hollow Knight.
Would you prefer a classic metroidvania with uprgrades and fast paced combat?
Or would you prefer a more slow paced and thought out game, where you need to take your time and plan ahead?
And yeah, Rain World's AI alltogether with the physics engine makes this game experience so unique and fluent.
I got genuinely angry multiple times, but it was worth it in the end.
Rain world has experience feel
THAT'S what is important
