I am confused about your Slugcat diving to save the other one, when the game starts in Easy M. Did they die or do we look for them? If it's possible to find them, how?

Answer below, which is a spoiler. If you do not want a spoiler, then just keep in mind the fact that cutscenes for characters other than survivor are incomplete in this current version of Rain World.

You never find The Survivor slugcat. And he never sees you. Whether or not they ever will in a future update is unknown, and it's likely even then they never find eachother ever again, but keep in mind that cutscenes for monk and hunter are incomplete, and I believe they are adding more in the next update along with... other unknown stuff, possibly co-op campaign like everyone keeps asking.

There's a new ending cutscene where the Monk finds his brother after ascending(just search "Rain World 1.7 Hunter and Monk endings" on youtube)
