Considering the fact that they get to release the game on Switch they're doing pretty good for an indie game. I hope they don't abandon the game or universe though. More Slugcat related stuff would be nice. They should try something else, but ABSOLUTELY shouldn't drop Rain World world. It's too unique.
There's only radio silence from the devs since 1.7 dropped on consoles, with the exception of the japanese patch. The Rain World twitter account keeps posting cute fan art very often, almost on a daily basis, but that's about it. No activity on the TIG Forums and if you check the devs social media nothing they say is related to Rain World. I like to think that they are working quietly on a big update but I honestly doubt it.
I believe the closest thing we will get as content updates, at least on PC, will come from the modding community from now on.
