Well, I have to keep changing the direction I am jumping and very quickly to traverse upwards. In two sections this got so bad that I had to switch to keyboard, it does not feel responsive at all. I understand, this game is not supposed to be like Super Meat Boy but suddenly asking me to climb a vertical shaft with wall jump with the way controls are makes not sense to me. The game clearly has not been designed with tight platforming in mind, then what is the point of putting this obstacles in the player`s way?
Before I bought the game and played, I have watched some playthrough and wondered why so many people can't even walk, wall jump or climb (let a lone trying any move techques) properly? Are they that bad or disabled? I show them how to be a gamer!
Until I played for myself.... I was clueless fool... Holy crap, controls were beyond bad, no wonder everyone struggle with these.
there's a mod on the workshop called SimplifiedMoveset! it has a few options to help with movement and such, one of them prevents automatically sliding down walls whilst grabbing into them to wall jump, so you can take as much time as you'd like before jumping. no shame in using QoL mods! shame that it isn't built into the base game's remix functionality
I had breaking point in one of slugcats campaign that forced me to use console command out of pure anger it inflicted on me. I have abused console so much, that I often can't restrain myself, doing on share impulses or making excuses to use it. I feel shame for using it and got addicted to it everytime I felt wronged or had a rage moment
Same thing can be said for mods that makes game easier. The only thing preventing me to abuse mods for my gameplay advantage is by completely unistaling them. But then I get urgue to put them back when you got too comfortable, rellying on them.
Rain world was one very few games that forced me to cheat (and yes I do consider mods that give you large fixes and advantages a cheat). Last time I did it in another game I use mod to beat the game. I Cursed it to hell, uninstalled and ask Steam support to remove it from my Library to never see or reminded myself of it
Games are supposed to be fun. If modding the game makes it more fun, it is a net positive on your life.
Fair enough point, some issues are definitely worth addressing by the developers manually. Hope that they’ll eventually push another remix update to solve wonky controls. Or better yet, make the input a bit better (Clarification: I don’t actually use QoL mods personally but I do feel safe recommending them to anyone that is having consistent issues)
As for this, there's literally a pipe on the left side of the room that leads up. You don't have to do any wall jumping.
