Not sure if this is confusion over what noodleflies are, confusion over what op is trying to say or if you're surprised that noodleflies might be tamable this way.

Noodleflies are creatures added to the beta (flies with noodly trunks and tails). Unique to this species is parental care (e.g babies ride on their mother's tail and mothers will attack predators that try to hurt their babies) which I think might be the basis for what's op talking about (e.g they "imprint" on slugcat).

However I haven't found eggs yet myself so I can't really test this out and see how accurate that is.

Why tame them, rather feed them to lizards. Lizards to me are like a mans best friend (a dog)

Because angry noodleflies are scary if you aren't able to kill them quick enough.

I've had a baby noodlefly following me around for about 3 cycles now, hibernating with me; any idea how many cycles it takes for them to grow in to adulthood? Do they grow at all?

I'm trying to raise some baby noodleflies as well (gotta substitute for the slugcat pups, since they still haven't been added yet), after hibernating with them for several cycles (at least 4 times) and they still haven't grown I'm suspecting that they might not grow at all, I hope this is a feature that will be added in later updates.

Indeed, the baby noodleflies are supposed to be easy hibernation food. Little messed up, but what is, is.

They can follow you around if you're nice, but I really wish we could hold them without them having a heart attack and dying. Protecting them is nearly impossible and pointless unless you're doing it as a sort of challenge run.

So, after farming noodlefly ababies for six cycles, one started following me. Every other baby would run, but this one is following me... I didn't even kill its mum

Yes this is true but only babies and thy never grow up either, more like a portable food source. Be awsome if they did grow though.. Maybe when they add slugcat pups thy can add baby lizards scavs ect..

Noodleflies growing up is planned to be added in the game at some point, but probably not the next update.
