2 food should be fine. I gave 2 baby centipedes to mine, tamed him in the Industrial Complex. But it may vary between individual lizards. I can remember one pink lizard that refused to be tamed after 8 or so lantern mice and I just ended up having to kill him so that I could tame his replacement (who was tamed without a problem with 2-3 mice) - I don't get why the first refused to be tamed, could be down to programmed "individuality" or perhaps a glitch.
