Jumping Between Poles

I've started swinging slugcat right before jumping to the next vertical pole. Similar to how slugcat can get a little extra distance if it rocks before jumping off the top of a pole.

For Example:
Jumping off the top of a pole to the right, i'll press Left [for a very short time, a tap] then hold Right and press jump just as slugcat is near the falling point.
If i'm leaping between poles, i'll do the same thing. Left, then Right with a jump near the end of the motion [or animation].

I'm wondering if you all have tried this out / could help me confirm this. This feels like it's helped climbing the Leg, but i'm also wondering if i'm just doing an extra motion for nothing.

I've always found just holding down the button for the direction you want to go helps you travel further when you jump, not sure about the swinging thing, but sounds cool :)

Yep, except what OwlCowl said. I just hold the direction I wanna go and then jump when I'm about to fall.

I'm beginning to think i'm simply getting better at judging where i should jump from. I used to hit the ceiling when i'd try jumping to another pole. Now that i'm a little better, I'm not really noticing a difference!
