You can try and get some more white lights for moon (the blue being) but that is not required to complete the game, and it is quite difficult.
Minor/major spoiler depending on your perspective:
You can bring her colored pearls and she can 'read' them, which will give you the lore of the game
Also, if you instead decide to eat one of the neurons, you'll gain a useful permanent ability much earlier than you would otherwise, but your guide will no longer help you. If you're not planning on doing a neuron run in your first playthrough you might find it makes your life a bit easier at the cost of losing your guide.
That's odd, I did that with the one near by and it didn't to anything, is there a special way to give them, because she wouldn't take it off me, or pick it up if I dropped it.
Maybe it helps fix her memory?
