little hint: you'll have to delve deep before you get a chance to start climbing
I managed to find a scavenger merchant while I was looking for Scanvenger caches and dragging around a poor glowing creature. Made life a hella lot easier.
For those who are running through this area, you'll want to look around a bit. The merchant fortunately doesn't need you to fumble around in the dark.
(got through without stealing the enlightment)
aand there is a scavenger merchant right under the end of the bridge (from shoreline)
Turns out the actual light source is a more orangish rock, the trader was just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with me I guess. Though those blue rocks are pretty useful in that area for other reasons if I recall.
It stuns creatures with low light vision.
It's particularly useful for making spiders ♥♥♥♥ off.
Mmmm not sure what you mean. Do you mean the underwater area with live ferns? I made it to The Leg so I am a little baffled by the hint.
Ah thanks! Yeah The Leg is proving to be rather...."fun".
Admittedly, it is an absolutely godsend once you manage to trade in for a glow-stone-thing. I kept that stone safely in my belly all the way until Five Pebbles, just incase I needed it again.
A little tip for navigating in the dark if anyone needs it - check you map often - you can see a rough outline of anything walkable/climbable that's immediately around you, so you can just about plan out a route.
It's a little less involved than that. If you're coming from the shoreline, there's a Merchant that sells you a lantern for a single pearl (which the game is kind enough to give you two as you enter). This merchant is literally right as you enter the catherdral from the bridge. Instead of going down the pipe moon points you to, go to the one on the right and enter.
