Taming/Befriending General
Basically i think i know a sure fire way to tame a lizard/dragon. You either have to save it from a danger or feed it a bunch. I suggest going for lizards that seem "chill". Chill lizards tend to stay in one area and are therefore easier to feed/save.

Some Green lizards honestly are easier to handle then the others. They tend to like there personal space/basking area and will get fiesty if you stay to long. A "chill" lizard is not likely to follow you out of a room or very far from its territory.

Avoid small and fast lizards they can easyly kill you and will not hesitate to. Focus on larger slow moving ones.

Pink Lizards are pretty clever and will want to aim at you before rushing you most of the time. You could use this to your advantage when trying to feed one. Let them open there mouth then shove the food in. Rinse and repeat intill the lizard loves you.

I am thinking you could tame a pack of yellow lizards by taming the alpha? I am not sure, seems way to risky.

Use the blue and white lizards tongues to your advantage, if the tongue is out attach food (not slugcat!)

Lizards will typically eat anything that will fit into their dens, I am not sure if same color cannibalism is a thing but the lizards do like to eat the other colors.

I think i really lofty goal would be taming one of those fiesty red lizards.

Have yall befriended any other creatures yet? Im thinking that maybe you could befriend a cicada by feeding it bats

I agree, they're just a little harder to tame but their strength will make it worthwhile.
I'm having significant trouble trying to get 'The Friend' achievement. Even in Sky Islands, I've tried for at least an hour and a half to get a blue lizard to love me. I eventually managed to tame one and save, but he won't follow me into the hibernation point. I assume this is because of the size, but I'm not sure if this is a bug... can I get confirmation they won't follow you into small hibernation points?

I've never run into that problem. If the lizard can get to the entrance, it should be able to get into the shelter and join your hibernation. Just make sure it's following you through the pipe before you go far enough into the shelter to trigger the hibernation proper.

Alternatively, Shaded Citadel (west, first lizard) is a great place to get that achievement. The first lizard you encounter coming from Industrial Complex is the only predator, you've got lantern mice a dime a dozen to feed it and a lot of food for yourself. The lizard can 100% get to the shelter on the left above the spider cave too. Good luck!

The first hibernation chamber you ever sleep in can also take a lizard, sadly the lizard will not be able to leave if its a green
WHOOOOO I DID IT! I GOT THE ACHIEVEMENT! I just needed to feed it one more cicada and it eventually followed me to the hibernation point, and the rest was super easy!

What's the best way to tame a white lizard? I've been trying for several days, and it seems impossible, since the one i'm trying to tame either goes to a den it can't get into, or when it comes out, it still kills me. If it doesn't kill me, then the rain will. :< Heck, is a white lizard even the best lizard to have on your side?

It is not Impossible to tame any variation of lizard, but you have to know what you're doing. If your lizard is glitched and will not enter it's den with food, you should hibernate a cycle to try and "reset" it. Whites can be useful, but are not the most practical breed to tame because of it's tongue that is always aiming for you, and the fact it is difficult to locate when camouflaged. You can however use it's tongue to your advantage, attaching squidcadas or other food items to it when it is deployed. Do not attempt to tame a lizard all in one cycle if the day is short and/or food items for your lizard are limited. Your progress will carry over to the next cycle if your lizard sticks to one area and you can find it again. Whites and Blues are TERRIFIED of vultures, and will be greatful if you save them from one, counting as a point towards taming. Whites and Blues usually take three 'taming points' to become friendly and possibly one more if you want it to follow you to a hibernation point. If you still find this too hard, a Blue or Magenta works just as well and are much easier to tame. I would not recommend a Green, as they are very limited as far as mobility goes and may not be able to follow you to a hibernation point. I hope these tips helped!

I love to tame Reds and Purples from the Hurricane mod.. They're big, fast and strong, very hard to tame but very good to have at your side

Thank you for the advice! ^^ I ended up taming a white before this was posted, so I already succeeded in my goal, but thank you for posting this anyways! ^^

Bravo, good sir! (P.S. I admire your courage in trying to tame such a fickle beast... I hope he serves you well!)

Very nice!

I have found taming a white lizard in The Leg to be very helpful. Two rope worms were enough.

It was very useful by drawing the attention of the daddy long legs away from me, sadly I had to abandon him when I rested in the shelter opposite of the overhang entrance, he had no way of getting inside.
