Report a translation problem
We've had a few reportings of this. Seems like there are a couple of possible reasons. Rain World natively supports Xbox 360 and PS4 Dualshock controls, so occasionally if you are using some sort of controller software such as DS4Windows, etc., it will interfere with the native controls and behave strangely. Try disabling that software and see if it helps.
Another variable with this seems to be if you are using Steam's Big Picture Mode. I have NO idea why that might be at the moment, but some users have found that turning off BPM solves the problem.
Hope it helps! If not let me know and we'll keep looking into it.
Should clarify I'm using an Xbox One controller, not an Xbox 360 controller. Was hoping maybe that options file would give you some hint on what's going wrong here because I'm not really sure what those tags are or what those strings of numbers could mean.
I'd be happy to tinker around with my options file and report back, but I'd need a bit of context for what those numbers and tags mean, because I can't really make much sense out of it.
- Go to the options menu (with controller enabled)
- Scroll to the bottom
- Hold RT to move over to the 'Credits' option
- Keeping RT held down, move up to the controller binding options
- Pick any binding and re-bind it (it doesn't matter if it's to the same button)
And then it suddenly works fine for me. I've also restarted the game a few times to see if it would come back and so far it has not.
here's my new options text in case that helps for diagnosing this:
ScreenResolution<optB>1<optA>InputSetup<optB>0<optB>1<crlA>0<crlA>3<crlA>336.335.332.330.331<crlA>27.32.304.122.120.276.273.275.274<optA>SoundVol<optB>0.6<optA>MusicVol<optB>0.6<optA>Language<optB>0<optA>SaveSlot<optB>0<optA>
I'm pretty sure that DS4Windows is not the issue here, since I uninstalled it and its drivers entirely and the problem is still here.
I use a 3D mouse for work so maybe the game has issues picking which device to choose? if devs want to debug this issue, maybe it's a good idea to install "3DxWare 10" from http://www.3dconnexion.eu/service/drivers.html
Also, I know for sure that the issue is not on my end, because I have a lot of games installed and none of them have this issue

Adult Swim either wasn't forward-thinking enough or didn't have the resources to support the Xbox One controller.
