The hunter and outlaw are the opposite, kill others species, be carnivorous.
The survivor you must reach and keep the highier karma level for a few cycles.
The Chieftain I think you need become the leader of the scavengers, if you get a vultures mask they will respect and follow you.
You are right about the Dragon slayer.
Edit: there is a traveller path too, I think you must discover all regions or all the gates
The Saint: Don't kill any predator or scavengers for a few cycles, you can eat bats without any problems
The Monk: Only eat fruit and thing like that
The Outlaw: You have to kill one predator or scavenger in every cycle for a few ones
The Hunter: Just eat bats for a few cycles
Andrew is right with the survivor
I haven't made the chieftain yet
For traveller you need to hibernate in every region in the game, but I don't think you need to unlock every shelter, just one per region.
For Friend, you need to befriend a lizard, do this by feeding them cicadas, lanturn mice, scavengers, or by saving them from vultures. Then they need to hibernate with you for 3 days minimum.
For the Hunter just eat meat. Bats, centipedes and dead crying worms all work.
For the Scholar sleep with a different colored pearl in your "storage" 3 seperate times. The normal white pearl also counts.
For the Traveller, only regions slept in after getting to a certain point in the game count. You'll likely have to revisit areas prior to that to register them.
As for the Cheiftain, having this completed makes all scavengers friendly to you and will even allow you to take one of their items from time to time. It's also the only passage you can actually lose if you kill a scavenger or upset them. You can get the passage back by giving them a pearl or helping them out.
Edit: The lizard will follow you after that, like a pet, but I don't have seen him helping in a fight
