Need help with Shoreline

I'm at a point where the ai dude is saying i need to climb up a shaft that has falling water in it and i cant work out how to force my way up through the bubbles without being blown back or past the bubbles. Every time i try i drown after being blown away once.

Is there a way to reliably climb up past them?

Tap the jump button to swim faster, it should be enough to beat the current.

if you back track a little bit you can find an alternate route , the ai worm is only telling you the shortest route .

Is there a route which avoids all those falling water spots, traversing shoreline from any direction? I did not find it yet (if it exists). I have the impression you have to be lucky to not get drowned there. :(

I got confused about this too, since the game doesn't teach you how to swim. Try to get near the surface of the water and press the jump button a few times while aiming upward.

While I was able to walljump up several spots like that in shoreline. That one in particular's current was too strong, I had to find a way around it.(I went left instead and found a seperate way over)

Yeah that's exactly the spot. I did actually get it after a couple of hours of trying, and the following area was a lot simpler thank goodness.

A quick note to anyone who's struggling with this, I cant really offer any advice except keep trying, and when you get past it, when you see a spear grab it and hold onto it cos you'll need it to get up a ledge. There's a good chance if you need to backtrack to find one you'll get caught in the rain before you make it to a hibernation spot and you'll be forced to relive your nightmare of getting up that pipe again.

That's awesome that there is actually a way around it. If i ever end up rage quitting and restarting, or finishing the game I'll explore more around that area. For now I'm just relieved that it's over ha ha.

That shaft is actually the route I came down on the return trip from Moon... it's effectively a shortcut back through the region. If you managed to jump up it, you bypassed a fair bit of the Shore region in the process :-)
