Getting eaten isn't actually a game over?

So, the first time I got eaten by one of the neon predators, I noticed that rather than just gulping me down, he started walking off with me. Upon changing rooms, the camera moved with my "corpse," and so I got the chance to see a lot of different rooms. Eventually, thunder boomed and he dropped me, and... I was surprisingly still alive. He ran underground as the rain started to fall, and I ran for shelter, though I unfortunately didn't make it.

I later tried this with the rain, but it seems to last long enough to not be worth waiting, if it can be waited out (the cutscene at the start of the game seems to suggest the protagonist survived a flood), and just now I got pulled into one of their dens. Seems to be a true game over if they pull you into a den before the rain hits, but it is fun watching two climb into the same pipe and then throw a fit at one another.

Apparently if you get grabbed and 'die', if another neocroc starts fighting with your attacker you can get freed and run away. Not sure if that's true though, haven't seen it happen myself.

You can live after being caught by certain creatures, and there is a difference between just being grabbed, and dying. Both can happen just after one bite, but more likely than not, you will just be carried away into a den, to die there.

You can tell if you're dead by your eyes, if they aren't two crosses you're still alive. Often if a lizard is preoccupied, by the rain or another lizard he won't kill you when he grabs you. It's sort of like when you grab a bat, but don't eat it straight away. That might give you the oppotunity to escape. :)

I always leave it now, as I've managed to survive a few times now... plus, they do some fun things some times, like bashing you on a rock etc :).

You can actually struggle for a little while after getting grabbed if the predator didn't make a clean kill. With the lizards, struggling too much too early can make them take pause to finish you off, but waiting too long can just have them deposit you in one of their little food caches. I actually managed to make a lizard lose its footing and plummet to its death with me still in its mouth though. That was pretty amusing~

Three vultures had a battle royale for me. Due to all 3 fighting to decide whose dinner I was going to be I was released to fight another day. Defeinitly a crazy moment, wish I had the power to record my run.
