Currently stuck in Garbage Wastes near a gate - do I have to restart?

Normally I don't ask for help in games like this, but I feel like I've ended up in an inescapable situation.

My current spawn point is next to one of those gates that links the sections, but I'm currently stuck between two jumps I can't make: http://imgur.com/a/30MaK

The first case I need one of those fly squid things, but it usually just gets eaten by the monster in that section. I'm not even sure I could grab that pole again with a fly squid thing.

The second case I need one of those fly squid things as well, but it's usually drowned or otherwise dead by the time it gets to that section because I had to drag it from the area where I couldn't make the other jump.

To make matters worse, there seems to be a tribe or two here.

Is there a way for me to escape this area, or do I just have to restart?

I'm really loving the game so far, but this one bit has me stumped in a way that doesn't feel fun or challenging.

Have you tried throwing spears into the walls to serve as makeshift platforms?

Yeah, you can spear the wall to get an extra pole to climb on.

Edit: Ok, just looked a the map.

First picture: Looks like a one way path, however there is a way around.

Second picutre: You Need to spear your way up.

Holy crap, this game makes me feel dumb in the most inventive ways.

In a prior section, I was thinking "I wish I could use this to make poles I could grab on to." but I must not've put it in a good place to test it then so I gave up on the idea.

This is gonna be fun.

EDIT: It took a lot of dying but I eventually got out. There's like... 5-6 of those tentacle monsters and it pretty much took brute force via RNG and deaths to actually punch through. I'm not going to say I'm good or have a strong base for an opinion, but that place is pretty much a death loop if you don't successfully make it through that gate or get lucky with the tentacle monsters (unless there's some way of dealing with them elegantly that I am yet to learn). I have at least like 2 hours of struggle recorded (I've been recording a lot of my play for this because there's lots of funny moments that happen here and there).

Btw, did you came from the drainage system to gaebage wastes?

I was in Garbage Wastes and going through to the next zone (just happened the next day was the right day to go through the gate).

I'm assuming it's Drainage System because I drowned in the first area (still getting used to the swimming controls and air stuff) haha

I'm currently "stuck" here.

Much like Kaduseon, I know of making platforms from spears, and using the blue fly to get bigger jumps, but my life does it feel brutally unfair.

I'll persist, feel but so close to starting a new game.

Weridly, this is just the kind of game I enjoy.
