What creature is that? [spoiler ending]

In the depths, after the dive into the void sea, the slugcat met this strange creature:

I wonder if this is one of the God Squid or the people who were able to transcend, or somenthing else?

The alien head reminds the iterators (Big Sis Moon and Five Pebbles).
So I was thinking, maybe this is the Sliver of Straw, the iterator mencioned in the yellow pearl found in Look to the moon region.

Apparently this iterator have broadcast a message affirming he found the solution, but he died after that or transcended, no one knows for sure.

It's all a bit up in the air right now until something new about them is possibly released. A lot of people think they are the people who transcended, but I kind of like the idea of it being Sliver of Straw. On another note I recently drawn one and it kinda looked somewhat like the yellow helper, but that just might be me though.

Not enough lore if any is available unless not found yet in the game to make any conclusions. From what you can see them doing in the void they appear to be keepers of the void and based on other lore, they may determine if you are worthy of ascending. On they wiki the have been named Void Worms.

I wouldn't call this creature here a Void "Worm", as it's connected to a body with what appear to be tentacles/arms, so it's more than just a worm. On the way down, however, I believe some of those in the background are Void Worms, but not this creature. That's just how I see it.

This's exactly what I was going to say,they seem more like a guardians to me.
