Imo, other than that would just be cheating.
And it's a little hasty to say that the only use for an undo command is cheating. Lots of people mistakely click on a hex that was not intended. The solution implemented in Commander: The Great War probably works best here, which is on the first click on the destination to draw a line showing the route followed to the destination hex, then click again on the destination hex to actually move the unit. Make it an option if desired, but the game needs something like that.
Move and pay in my book.
Not being harsh or anything but hey, War is Hell ;(
The rule should be, if you make a move that does not uncover new territory or any enemy units, then you should have the option to undo that move.
Too often I have moved my carrier, or a ship underneath my plane, when I meant to move my plane! This is frustrating. Or I left-clicked an adjacent hex and moved a unit one hex accidentally, when I meant to right-click to unselect that unit.
Undo works well in Panzer Corps, and it does not let you undo a move that uncovers new information or territory.
This not such much a problem in Panzer Corps, because of it primitive spotting rules. You see everything. Not matter what, no matter where, no matter by whom, you just spot everything in your range.
A Maus tank in the open 1 hex away is treated the same as a commando squad in a mountain 3 hexes away. *facepalm*
If you suffer from many misclicks, is it not better to find a solution for the root of the problem than trying to fix the symptoms? Try lowering the mouse sensitivity, enable enhance pointer precision in the mouse properties. Or just stop using the mouse of a moment and spent time thinking about your next couple of moves. Instead to click one unit at a time and then trying to figure out what to do next.
We don't need all games watered down for those that 'rush' through everything.
Take your time, learn and adapt - It's a war game and should be played as such.
Should have that here.
Having your units scout - dont like it/undo - scout - dont like it/undo - scout - oh there they are!
Wheres the fun it that?
