Panzer Corps 2 comes to mind for other game like OOB. If you play PzC and OOB you will have no issues picking it up. There are several things done differently in it however and not everyone likes it.
Have heard no news about a OOB 2. The system works well I hope they continue with DLC for it, as it is my favorite TBS game.
And mea culpa, I actually meant Panzer Corps 2 in my original post. I also tried PC1, but after playing PC2 for so long, I simply couldn't force myself to play the first part because it just felt clunky and outdated in comparison.

You can't beat the price, so they're worth a look. The numerous comments on the scenarios and campaigns in the forum are generally approving. Criticism is usually constructive (and sometimes implemented by the designer). The work of Erik Nygaard seems to be particularly appreciated. I have played some of his scenarios for The Operational Art Of War and found them to be quite good. I have begun Erik's Operation Olympic campaign in OOB and like it so far.
I am talking about Panzer General series, some of them are really much harder than Panzer Corps or OoB, its really fun!
