Fix Pack for US Pacific Campaign Maps
Hey everyone, as i go through the game's original campaign, i have been trying to fix whatever broken triggers and such present in the map files. So i decided to make this thread to present a easier way for anyone that may want to download it.

Heres the changelist so far:

MidwayUSA map:

- Fixed a non-core battleship not showing up in case you managed to save it from Pearl Harbor. There was an already made event with this, the problem was that it never had a proper enabling trigger.
- The enemy is supposed to have one less carrier if you destroyed the enemy carriers from Coral Sea map, this never triggered due to a wrong campaign global variable.
- The trigger for completing the "Take no carrier losses" objective was done half way, it ONLY triggered if the map's turns reach the maximum (35 turns). This meant most players would never finish the objective and receive the bonus 100RP. This has been fixed and you will receive the reward regardless if you reached turn limit or the IJP ships leave the map.

GuadacanalUSA map:
- Small cosmetic fix, when you shoot down 5 airplanes now the objective market will turn to the green checkmark, previously it would stay as a blue interriogation mark (you get the reward regarless of this fix).

PhillipineSea Map:
- Fixed the whole Yamato mechanics:
* Now if you managed to kill the Yamato on MidwayUSA, it wont show up again in
this map (it will be replaced by a '44 Nagato).
* If you face the Yamato here and sink it, the proper campaign variable will be
changed (and the proper notificiation event will play), preventing it from
spawning on future maps.

Layte:
- Fixed the Yamato Mechanics:
* Now if you killed the Yamato in a previous map, the ship that will spawn at the
top right corner of the map will be a '44 Nagato.
* Likewise with previous maps If you face the Yamato here and sink it, the proper
campaign variable will be changed (and the proper notificiation event will play),
preventing it from spawning on future maps.

Okinawa:
- Fixed the Yamato Mechanics:
* Now if you killed the Yamato in a previous map, the ship that will spawn at the
top right corner of the map will be a '45 Nagato.
* Likewise with previous maps If you face the Yamato here and sink it, the proper
campaign variable will be changed (and the proper notificiation event will play),
Here this has no more effect on the campaign (this is the last map where the
Yamato shows up and you have to sink it no matter what), thus this is mostly
just cosmetic effect.

Basically theres a general inconsistency in the campaign whenever the proper "yamato_destroyed" variable is updated (or checked) whenever the Yamato is involved. Sometimes the event plays but the variable isnt updated (Layte), sometimes everything works as it should (midway) and sometimes the variable is checked, nothing is done and the even cant still be played out (Okinawa).

Its interesting because the Yamato variable is supposed to show in pretty much all maps past Midway. Hopefully i can restore/fix them as i play.

Yeah, you can look up the individual folders to pick & choose the fixes if you dont like them as well :)

I still need to upload 2 more map fixes that will most likely be it for the USA Army Campaign (both related to the Yamato in the last couple scenarios).

Otherwise, thats pretty much it

Err, embarrassing question, but it's been a long time (years) since I D/L and install mod files, do you have "how to" instructions?

Its copy paste, inside the zip file the file structure should already exist, so you just unzip it where the game is installed :)

on steam: Right click on game, properties, browse installed files.

so drop it (in my case) in steamapps/order of battle folder and unzip? Just to clarify.

ok, I extracted it into the ww2 data folder and that was the first time it asked me if ok to overwrite files so I'm assuming that was the correct way?

Also does it also fix the Japanese bugs you found too? or did I need another file?

Yeah, just drop the files there.

Sadly i stopped playing OoB for a while now, i still need to finish this (the Okinawa still has wrong flags for the Yamato).

For the Japanese campaign, if memory doesnt fail, Midway also has problems with carriers and theres a problem with the "advanced tank industry" specialization (i forgot the exact name) where your supposed to get a super tank in the last mission, but you dont.

Games I really love, like this one, I tend to come back to, when I finally build my new PC I'll maybe play some newer ones but getting on a bit now to enjoy faster paced games as much as I once did and I know games like this will keep me happy, well I expect so anyway:)

Anyway, thank you for taking the time to help and for the fix in the first place, much appreciated:steamthumbsup:

Update, better late than never, i suppose...lol

Fixed Okinawa.

Thus the US Pacific Campaign levels are now all fixed (the last level has no problematic triggers).

Didn't know there were any issues there, I remember getting a popup for killing one of the Yamato class in the Leyte scenario but can't remember now if I got the other before or after that scenario if at all, anyway, thanks for the updates, hope you get some more inspiration to fix the Japanese campaign in the next few months:steamhappy:

I am mostly trying to do the campaigns on Difficulty 5, which can take quite sometime to go through, but i feel a sense of closure once i am done with a mission, beating the AI at its best.

The IJP campaign i have done 2 times already (it was my first campaign, i did it once back when this game was called Order of Battle: Pacific, another time going through Morning Sun + Rising Sun campaigns and now will be my third (and hopefully final time) doing them at Difficulty 5.

I wanna play the other campaigns at some point, haha!

But yeah, the Japanese campaign has some more advanced problems, i will need to learn how to edit/look into the Specialization triggers, since thats what seems to be broken for the 1945 Super Tank unlock.
