yes but you can spend this cash on repairing them for the next battle. Just for me. I guess.
Whether you spend the RP during the scenario you are playing or during the setup for the next scenario it is the same amount. Your units will be the same strength. When you have an objective, they matter. You may not see it right away but they impact what enemy forces you may face later in the DLC. (either additional units or more experienced unit, sometimes both, or you may have more units available because you did the secondary objective. ) Some of these do not show up in the next scenario it can be a few down the line. So by ignoring them you are costing yourself in additional damage you take later so in reality it costs more.
Sure but you can make the repairs between the battles also. As an additional benefit there may be useful upgrades available then and by upgrading a damaged unit you get elite replacements for it at the price of regular replacements which saves a nice amount of RPs during a campaign. The other relevant points are already excellently presented in Boredflak's reply above.
Yes you can miss every secondary objective in every DLC and still finish that DLC. That being said you should not just ignore them ever. There are times you will miss one but to say they do not matter is wrong.
As for tips on the game... Use the enemy's environment and fire from the flanks.
But you get the extra RP's and miss out on stuff the XX turns would give you. In the long term this will cost you MORE than the one turns RP's you miss out on for ending the scenario early. Again the benefits of the secondary objectives are sometime not seen in the next scenario some stretch out over several scenario's. So you may not see the impact of doing it right now, but in the long term it matters.
I read the reward, if its an extra unit or extra command points ... not worth it most times for me. AGAIN... just me, i share it with no expectations of being followed.
