Strategy for Race to Rangoon
Hello --

I am about to start the Race to Rangoon scenario, and I wanted to get ideas on the best strategy. Looking at what forces I have available, I am guessing that concentrating the bulk to the east, and coming in from that direction would be a good idea. I want to be able to concentrate my forces rather than having them spread out. This would be especially good in light of the array of bunkers at the north end of the city.

Can anyone provide feedback on this?
Thanks.

I wouldn't bother with the bunkers at all. I split my forces into two groups and proceeded south along the western and eastern part of the map. With this strategy your first goals are the big supply sources of Kalagon and Syriam west and east of Rangoon. Taking them should put the enemy on low supply. Then you can close in from both sides and take the city. The scenario is 70 turns long so take your time and keep your battlegroup(s) concentrated.

Hello. Thank-you for the feedback. Do I need to simply bomb the fuel depots, or do I have to capture the two cities?

I just captured them which is the easy choice imo. However, if you have strategic bombers available, you can use them to bomb the depots to smithereens. In fact that may well be a better tactic and can put the enemy on low supply earlier.
