Good idea. thanks for the tip :) this is a rather basic one showing some guardsmen next to the tanks.

this one puts some contrast between the command squad and a titan...
and of course here's a large group of marines.

It's all kind of rough guesswork right now (2000 images to tweak so it got a bit crazy towards the end) but this is basically it. I can't really make the titans any bigger because enlarging the png. would wreck the sharpness/detail and because it's only one tile so they are like that to stay. What I might do in a future edition is make EVERYTHING tinier if people want to see that but we'll see :)
Great job martiew1 and you were right about enlarging Titans... big white box style.
It was actually the original plan but this was before I got my act together with the scaling so there were some really odd looking formations. I'll start out with the infantry then maybe do an update, vehicle squadrons will come later. It's a case of trying to find the balance between a good size and still being able to see the whites in their eyes
I don't think that would be a good idea since strength will vary a lot during battle.
I'd rather see good scaling as it would help in judging which units are the biggest threat.

You finally get it done! Duplicate the number of units (but only the visuals, leave the unit strenght alone, otherwise it may breake game balance), as the dev said, and it's going to be Epic!
If the unit animation will be streching out just a little bit out of the hex then it's not a big deal.
Maybe the developers will take your idea and ask for your permission to include this in future patches, anyways it's great!
Thanks for making this Martlew1. Cheers!
Thank you for doing this. This is exactly what I was wanting to do as well.
Thank you for the suggestion too Slitherine_Iain. I hope he impliments that. Will be perfect!
I like the tabletop experience so five are more than enough for me.
Honestly, I've always been a big fan of proper scale in games, the whole CIV look drives me nuts at times. Though by shrinking the infantry you do lose out on a lot of the detail and character that these guys worked hard to create. I have to admit, I love the artwork and graphics of this game, that would be lost a lot in translation when they are shrunk down. I'm torn, that said, I do like this mod and I will look forward to it coming out once it's finalized. I will play the game both ways. The way the are now reminds me of the old school pewter figures, which is really cool.
All infantry units will be set at 1/3 of the original size. All non command guardsmen/ork units will be multiplied, 2 times for standard infantry but x3 for hordes like orks, grots and conscripts/militia. Marines will be shrunk slightly less and will might stay in 5 man teams for epic feel.
As for vehicles, they will be be half size and squadrons of two normally. Superheavies will be shrunk too but not by much. By keeping the titans as they are hopefully they will finally be well.. titanic.
Screenshots to follow when I have done more units ready. Currently I have only switched a couple so the current mod is a placeholder until then.
Let's make Epic Armageddon happen :)
Ave Imperator.
