This just Orks vs Space Marines?
Or are there other factions represented?

I love the 40k universe but would never touch the tabletop game, so I been looking for a grand 40k strat game for PC.

Our GW licence only covers, for now at least, the wars on Armageddon... Of course we would love to cover it all.

Our license granted by Games Workshop covers only Armageddon, and so only factions involved in that conflict - Imperium vs. the Orks. However, it is a bit broader than Space Marines, Imperium is represented by Imperial Guard, Space Marines (three chapters currently) and Titans.

Well, that's a bit disappointing.

At least IG is represented, but I'd at least half expect a legion of Chaos to show its face or Eldar to stab you in the back while Orks are trying to bash your face in.

When you're saying it "covers only Armageddon", do you mean specifically the 2nd War for Armageddon, or potentially *all three* Wars?

Would be interesting to see some crazy Khorne Daemon and Cultists tactics versus Space Wolves and Grey Knights set during the First War, or the Black Templars, Flesh Tearers, and all those dozens of Chapters during the Third War

The first war might be a possibility, but second and especially third war are huge in the lore, so this is where our focus lies at the moment. A lot of background story to work with, many great characters, and that's people are most familiar with, especailly looking how many books and stories about Third War are released recently by GW.

I'd encourage you to hit up David Annandale and Guy Haley, who both write for Black Library.
David is currently in the process of writing a series based on Commissar Yarrick, and Haley has been diving into the Black Templars lately, during the Third War.
Might be good sources when representing certain characters in further campaigns!

You guys should try to obtain Horus Heresy rights. There were some crazy battles there, expecially the Siege of Terra. There's a lot of material for a great campaign.

Yeah, some of David Annandale's books are on my bookshelf - in fact, I've grabbed Imperial Creed on ebay before it was generally available. :) We've sure taken some inspiration from there, although not too much, becasue you can only do so much in a game.

And yes, Horus Heresy would be huge. But let us eat one piece at a time. :) Armageddon is huge in its own right.

The sequel to Imperial Creed is coming next summer, titled The Pyres of Armageddon, and it is specifically about the Second War. Absolutely loved IC and Chains of Golgotha before it! Glad to see that you're taking those stories into account :)

Instead of HH, consider Leviathan instead.

That is the one war where almost every faction gets involved somehow.

It has a lot of fluff you can play around with.

Especially after the trailer showing the different races. It's a bit misleading.
