Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon

The gameplay to me, is much more similar to Rites of War vice Final Liberation
I just don't how the gameplay compares to that of Final Liberation (FL), given the unit animation, overall sense of scale, units able to fire very long range shots across the map etc in FL. IMO, this game is much closer to the gameply of Rites of War, or a heavily modifed Panzer Corps, obviously more advanced, though similar in unit size and scale and overall gameplay. I think many will be dissapointed if you are expecting this to be akin to Final Liberation, nevertheless this is going to be a heck of a game. Final Liberation was almost a hybrid of sorts, it was turnbased, though units were heavily animated and units were individually accounted for, not a fixed icon with 10-Predators-strength for example.

You are right. But perhaps its because FL seems to be much wider known and therefor a better point of reference.

But at the end of the day, they both look quite similar.

Is this also based on Slitherene's Battle Academy 2 engine as Hell is?
No it is closer to Panzer Corps than Battle Academy. The game is hex based with a carry over campaign system.
This is definitly a rehash of Rites of War. Final Liberation is completely different baby.
It is a completely new game and game engine. It is hex based but and set in Warhammer 40,000 but I don't think that is the definition of a rehash :)
