Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon

Wait, what? There's a PC version of the tabletop game?
I live in an area where there's not much interest in TT games, and besides, haven't really wanted to shell out hundreds to collect, build, and paint minis. For the longest time, I've said to myself, "Man, I like the universe, and all the games are good, but it'd be super neato if there was a PC version of the tabletop game!"

Then, just today while I was catching up on new releases, seeing if anything caught my eye, I saw the DLC that was just released (like a week ago, mind you), and traced it to the base game... and like I said, holy crap, is this really a PC version of TT? I had thought GW would NEVER support that, given that they make so much money on selling models.

I'm not sure how I missed it, considering it was released a solid 4 months ago. I do know that there were a handful of DOS-era-ish TT 'emulators' that were ho-hum, is this just a modern re-release of one of those? Is it accurate to the TT rulesets and such? I want to believe that it's modern, given that the UI seems to rip fonts and graphics from DoW2, and after all, it's getting DLCs.

Please, tell me more about this, I feel like I've been cheated out of months of 40k enjoyment due to my inattentiveness.

It is a good hex turn based game based on WH40k, it is not a copy of TT on PCs. Huge number of units for steel legion and some space marines chapters so far, but do not expect TT rulesets.

Like Dalnar said, really not a PC version of the TT game. But a very good adaptation of the universe in a hexbased game.
The graphics might look a bit outdated but as we all know, graphics don't make a good game. And the gameplay is addictive as hell! It's been a long time since I've been this addicted to a game. It's actually drawn me away from my actual Warhammer 40K TT activities, something my wife never thought imaginable :-p

@Sentarian; your wife remains a 40k widow. At least she can interrupt to a degree. BTW thanks for confirming the best aspects of the game after some below average reviews. Had played TT from Rogue Trader to 4th Edition. Coupled your honest opinion and he new DLC, I will be purchasing this game for sure.
