You're letting fanart color your perception of the previous games. Lila and Ryza don't show much skin either; the former has a body suit, and Ryza only has her thighs and arms out. In the actual games she doesn't show any of the cleavage fanart gives her.

She also doesn't really do anything fanservicey besides crawl through tunnels while the camera is behind her. Meanwhile Yumia is constantly bending over, thrusting her ass towards the camera or doing high kicks, not to mention those dance sequences which are literally only there to ogle her for a couple minutes. People on this board are confusing their subjective view that Ryza is hotter (one that I share) with the game being toned down, but that isn't really the case. There's even more focus on her body through the animations and camera angles, they just whiffed on the design but it's not for lack of trying.

B tier JRPGs need a strong hook to get people to play them, and TnA is what they used. This series used to have a comfy, laid back vibe to differentiate it but they've given that up to be a dollar store Tales game so Yumiass is what's left.

By contrast Yumia seems to have so many butt and boob shots Gust is unable to cut a trailer that isn't full of them. The idea that this game has been toned down in comparison is crazy to me.
