There is a stone behind the branches that needs to be placed on the platform to open the chest. But I couldn't find the entrance there, I went around the whole building.

You get a new type of ammo in the 2nd area that lets you get through those vines, so you're not getting there anytime soon. (And the sticky web like thing blocking off a room in a different ruin in the first area as well, for those wondering).
