I did as well, the game did not have any issue with that.

yeah I thought it would well all is good I actually was 99% able to explore the first region at least though the giant enemy things will need to be revisited

Same. Including the Giant Tree location that should not be accessible without the story event trigger, so I was expecting the game to soft lock progress due to that at some point. Pleasantly surprised that this is not the case so far.
