So the map keeps randomly opening the marker menu even though I'm not pressing anything
I don't even know which button is supposed to do that. It just randomly opens while moving the map

This did not happen in the Demo fyi

I got the same issue before, seems the keybinding is messed up that the movement of the L stick triggers the marker.
I think it's somehow related to the save file from the demo not fully compatible with the release.
I just backup the save file and delete the whole folder, then I start the game without loading the demo saves, then the bug magically disappeared even after restoring the backup.
Thanks for the suggestion but that didn't work

Sorry to hear that
Just to be sure, did you disabled the steam cloud save?
That can sometime mess with your save folder if you are modifying your save

Yeah I disabled cloud save, also disabled cloud save for the demo. But even if I completely delete the folder, the game still remembers my settings, so something is wrong

I think maybe there are some cloud save files in the steam folder itself or something
\Steam\userdata\111835777\3123410\remotecache.vdf maybe

what exactly did you backup and what exactly did you restore? Because doing it with the entire folder still bugs and only restoring the save doesn't let you load the game

This actually worked for me, thank you so much.

The steps I took in more detail were:
-Move the contents of the save folder elsewhere
-Start the game, don't carry over data from the demo
-Quit after the initial settings
-Copy your save folder back over except for steam_autocloud.vdf and system_data.bin since new files for those two have been created
Thank you, this was the answer. The problem was in system_data.bin
Ok, so I had to turn off cloud save on the demo as well, but I already uninstalled the demo. So I had to re-add the demo to my library, run it, then save and turn it off. Then I turned off cloud save for the demo, deleted all the save files again.

I don't know exactly which of those steps was overkill, but it works now.
(and that's trying it 5 times in different ways)

The main indicator that it's fixed is that you can now see the actual marker button, which wasn't there before: https://i.imgur.com/bdrvTFu.png

Was having the same issue, this fixed it for me. Thank you so much!!! Definitely a super weird little bug to have happen, I've never seen anything quite like it. But at least it's easily fixable.
