Dissapointing entry
As a huge fan of almost all previous atelier games with hundreds of hours in each title im very dissapointed in the direction the series has gone, i gave it a chance but the demo confirmed this game is a step in the wrong direction in all aspects, the babyfied alchemy, thougthless battle system, the overly-flashy over the top animations, etc. appear to try to appeal to as wide an audience as possible, its a shame but i will not be buying this game and i hope long time atelier fans dont support it either.

I just played the demo for 34 minutes and it was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bland as hell. I was really looking forward to this so I'm glad they released the demo.

The gameplay and alchemy were so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nothing burgers. Character design also looked boring. The obligatory huge tits woman (lila in ryza) is an eyesore.

At least Lila was cool though. Main characters cute and has a nice ass but I play games for gameplay lmao. If future titles are like this then I'm not even keeping the franchise in mind and will stick to the old games.

Shame but thank ♥♥♥♥ for the demo. I'm pretty disappointed but I didn't have to pay to realise I'm not a fan so not a huge deal.
Agree'd.

I've also played since time gated Ateliers, sophie, ryza etc

Yumia is not a game I'd be picking up, even if there were no graphical / technical issues. Something just doesn't feel good about playing it.

Thankfully XCX DE is freaking amazing. Shadows is garbage (Shocker)....So Inzoi and Prism is what we have left this month. I guess take what we can get.

Is it out yet? Good thing about this game being ♥♥♥♥ is I don't need to buy a new atelier and xenoblade game lmao. And yeah no surprise Shadows isn't great. Gameplay looks alright but a very modern ubisoft ass creed.
Ya fr lol

But ya XCX DE is out, it also leaked 5 days ago early. On the leak > Ryu + xcx de + Lossless scaling app, game is like it was made for modern PC, 60 fps and looks really good. changes they made from original are way more than I expected / read about.

(I did get it on switch also, sadly 30fps and dips fps, because I travel alot lol, but pc version leak is nuts)

In Sophie 2 and the Ryza games, both alchemy and combat became more complex as the game progressed, so I'm hoping something similar happens here.

disappointingly what you see is what you get, yumia does away with complexity

Just got it lmao. Yeah I'd go with the pc version but my computer can't run switch games for ♥♥♥♥. 30fps is undesirable but cope and seethe perchance. Can't wait to not buy the switch 2 lol.

You'd think they'd want more money and give it a pc release but nintendo does what they do best (imprisonment)

Yeah I have doubts as well. I don't think it's gonna be a complicated game like previous entries. It's incredibly simplified. Even first synths felt more entertaining in the old games.

Really hoping the second yumia game addresses the issues too, it is the first in a new trilogy afterall

Gust has always, in my opinion, had a great track record of making strong improvements within a trilogy. I couldn't believe how much Escha and Logy improved over Ayesha. Or perhaps we'll see some really good stuff from the console release of Resleriana.

Atelier lost its soul a long time ago already.
The combat since Ryza is extremely bland.
I'd say Yumia has a slightly more polished combat than Ryza but its still bad.

Its a low quality/budget development like Ryza 3 was.
+ no matter how you set the settings it always looks quite bad in general.
even without AA it looks blurry (its like TAA is semi-active still)

+ the game is literally braindead in case of simplicity. It's like the most big developers want to make players lazy and weak on purpose instead of letting them use their brain properly.

JRPG's should stop trying to do open world games, they're far worse than the previous versions. It's probably the fault by Square Enix since they turned into the worst asian company (ignore Sony, they're not relevant anymore)

Even Konami delivers more (You shouldn't trust Konami either but its still better)

If you want real JRPG's try some Falcom games or play the older Atelier games.

Is Yumia the worst? I'd say its better than Ryza 3 at least.
Gust should go back to the roots, their older games were much better in almost everything.

If Yumia would've different gameplay and a more classic world like the old ones I'd say it has potential. But not how it is now.

I was tempted to give Atelier another chance again after the biggest disappointment Ryza 3. (1 and 2 were ok except the combat)

But it's literally a copy of Ryza 3 with slighlty different assets, a bit more polished and a different story but all in all its basically the same.

KT is literally one of the most disappointing asian companies nowadays and I kinda liked them in the past before they turned some games into a DLC festival like Nexon.

But it's almost like a paradox momentum, it feels like every big company worldwide does bad things on purpose lately.

Is it on purpose? I don't know but it feels like it since KT isn't the only one.

Mid sized companies became a bit more expensive overall but they still deliver what you expect. Sometimes worse sometimes better but never really disappointing.

I'd pay max. $20 for Yumia on a good sale, but definitely not worth 60-70+.
Cough Fairy Tail 2, the worst release by them so far.

(But maybe, just maybe I give the new dynasty warriors a try since some hardcore veterans claim its finally good again after 2 bad ones. Not sure yet but it's not by Gust so its a good sign perhaps)
longtime fan, combat kinda sucks but we need moar atelier.
i also got it on a discount bc this ♥♥♥♥ isnt worth $70 lmao.
