You need to advance into the main story to unlock it!

You can get some as random rewards in the demo

Seems to be a limited drop and full game to unlock it. Demo ends after light house and you could do all the side quests and discoveries but you won't unlock it, best to do what you can, save the progress and pick up the rest in the full game.

To the left of the fast travel point Remote Beach (which is located on the left edge of the map) you can find an NPC being attacked by a group of punis. Defeat them and talk to him and he'll give you some random repair kits, including the three types that you can't craft yourself in the demo. He respawns as soon as you fast travel away and back so you can quickly save him repeatedly to farm the kits.

I think that's where I was trying to get to, and didn't find a path. Any tips? Thanks!

Keep doing main quest until you unlock the motorcycle.

Simple Synthesis is in the R1 menu. Hold R1 then up.
