Game looks better on PS5 then on PC, why?
So as some of you already have noticed, the texture in this game is very low. I tried the demo on a nvidia 4070 card and a radeon 9070 card and on both the texture was low. Changing the setting from hight to mediam to low, de changes were minimum. I downloaded the game on PS5 and the texture there looks alot better.

So either Gust ported the switch version to PC or there is a bug that prevents the game from loading the high texture settings.

I hope this is fixed with the version that is releasing this friday, otherwise its a instant refund for me.

They mentioned they were gonna fix the game with patches, so i'm guessing textures is one of them

I don't think it's the textures, it's the rescaling. In 2K, the textures are the same as on PS5 Pro. I also have a 4070.
The most funny moment is that Switch's version looks even better than PC's.
Wouldn't be the first time, for Firis the PC release had worse textures and lighting than the PS4 version. I think they ended up fixing the textures but not the lighting.

and by default the scaling looks atrocious though

I tried the demo certain scenes make the DoF and BLOOM atrocious EVEN WHEN OFF its as if the graphical settings arent applying when they should giving the image a very "fuzzy" blur all over you can see this in the crystals in the prologue where the light is shining

The fuzzy blurry lighting is from the light shafts setting, not bloom. I was confused too.

I don't know about PS5 since I don't have one, but the Switch version absolutely does not look better
Could someone post comparison screenshots?
Koei has just regressed 10 years in PC porting in just a month. They are just as terrible at it now (if not worse) than back in they days they joined Steam. Pretty sad.

When you have such a steep drop in quality like this you can bet that it's the fault of a single individual in the company, most precisely a higher up.

having been here since they first ported Gust titles with Atelier Sophie and Nights of Azure, the ports are definitely better than they used to be, even now. Instead of launchers with almost no graphics settings, you can change graphics settings in game and there's a lot of options to adjust. Sophie when it came out had lower quality 2D art assets on PC compared to PS4, something they had to fix in a later patch. The same can be said for Blue Reflection later on.

Nah, Ryza basically wasn't playable on PC because the devs may as well have thrown darts at a Keyboard for the controls.

Here, at least, the game is functional on mouse and keyboard - even if that's about all the demo gets right.
