Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land

My Current problem so far with the game..
Not sure if anyone experience this but my observation:

PERFORMANCE PROBLEM:
1. Blurry textures even on Yumia, tried it at both PS5 and RTX 3060, and I7 12th gen..
2. PC Performance is unplayable for me...
3. Got a bug where all the enemy and character just stand still and do nothing.. and I cant do anything other than walking and then not being able to walk again afterward.. I need to restart the game for this..

ART PROBLEM
1. Animation is kinda stiff ?? some npc literallly moonwalking..
2. World is kinda mid ?? even Genshin being a F2p game somehow have a better looking environment than a 60$ game... (closes comparison would be Mondstatr, and look at it even 4 years ago, it still looks way better)

COMBAT
1. I feel like its an early game problem but sometimes you burn all of your cooldown to the point that other than dodging there arent really anything that you can do... which make the whole combat kinda clunky, the cooldown between fights (i.e. pressing square for basic attacks) are not fast enough(cooldown wise) which make it feel clunky, but at the same time not impactful enough to justify the skill having a huge cooldown...

No but it's 90$ before taxes for us Canadian, we have definitely seen much better games for that price.

This is getting refunded for me. Will wait for patches and then try again in 6 months to a year. I can't get that game to run smoothly at 1440p. Constantly stuttering
I can confidently say the game plays much much better in PS5 Pro and if you have 3080, play it on 2560 resolution with high settings for all except the last two settings.

Genshin has made billions for its developer, meaning more resources for them to waste, so this isn't a valid argument

P1. This game was designed and developed for the Switch - PC is, and always was, an after-thought, and this, is applicable for all Atelier games. Game optimisation has nothing to do with your hard-ware, and everything to do with how the game client utilises resources from the GPU and CPU. If a game is built around the Switch - it obviously will not use all of a 3060's power output for texture resolutions and renderings - unless you force it with mod support.

P2. Big doubt - the game is still very playable, but you need to tweak the settings. If you're playing this on anything above 1080p - you're lost in the sauce.

P3. Fair.

A1. For a switch title? Nah they're fine. Don't expect AAA graphics from a switch title.

A2. False comparison. One had an operating budget of 500M$ USD. The other barely has 5M$ to work with.

C1. Fair. None of the Atelier games were ever considered "Combat-focus" games. Wasn't this to be expected?

It's a $70 game...
It is AA game with AAAA's price in my zone lol. even more expensive than DW origins or MHW.
Anyway, the biggest grip I have with Yumia and Firis is shade and color tone.
Yumia and Firis's true color of their skin are white, but are rendered as almost tanned color.
Hope the modder works on reshader as they did with Firis.

I am not talking about genshin now, at least because I wasnt make myself clearer... even comparing to area on mondstrat which is I think is a very fair comparison since both kinda have similar vibe to it.. and for the sake of this argument lets just even use that town from like 4 years ago... it still looks way better..

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is also a 70$ game...what's your point?

Nintendo has a habit of over-pricing their published games for ludicrous amounts.

Is this serious?

The bare minimum for anime style games nowadays that cost around 70, are graphics at the level of Granblue Relink.

Also Nintendo lives from nostalgia and from milking its fans, shouldn't be used as example for anything.

switch holding this game because they want it to want on switch.

You forget that this is an atelier game, you have 4 slots for items, use them.
i also feel like the combat is a bit restricted, but then again, the max level in the demo is 10 while you can find monsters a whole lot stronger. i've also struggled to make OP gear which was easily doable in Ryza, but to me, this is rather a plus instead. i struggle in the synthesis though, gotta relearn the basics of this game.

if anything i wish we could change the battle speed a bit.
I just finished the demo and got a crash after that, anyway

I am deeply disappointed.

- Too much yapping when exploring, even more than other ateliers.
- Graphics are so low effort considering its a 70$ game.
- Animations are stiff.
- The Map/World brings nothing eye catching, looks like a genshin map.
- Combat seems polluted.

If it was a 50$ or 60$ game, I would consider buying, guess I gonna wait for a discount.
