(SOLVED)How do you remove custom map markers?
I have to switch to using keyboard and mouse.
The default key is left mouse + E to open custom map markers.

I'm not sure either but hopefully someone figures it out.. also does anyone else has an issue where moving the left stick on a controller in the world map will randomly open the marker options? Because it's happening to me and that's why I have a marker there in the first place.

push A to mark push A at that mark to unmark

I had the similar problem , moving up(holding) left analog stick for 1.5 seconds will pop up the custom markers menu.
Moving up with D-pad has no issues.

Nothing seems to work to add marks or remove them other than the left analog stick randomly popping up the menu to add one, idk what's going on.

Same problem here. In fact, I was looking up if anybody had that problem after I figured out what was happening. Don't know how to fix it besides using the D-Pad and that's a little bit annoying to get used to.

I went ahead and downloaded the demo on my switch just to test the map and the markers and it actually works perfectly there, the A button selects markers and deletes them and if you hold it, you get the marker options menu, probably just a pc only bug and I suspect the issue only happens with a playstation controller but don't quote me on that.

Edit: Nah also happens on an xbox controller.

I'm using an xbox controller so yeah, I don't know, looks like a PC version bug I hope they fix it for the final game because you totally can move with the D-Pad but the issue is that the A button doesn't do anything in the map screen and as you said, nothing works besides the left analog stick for waypoints and instead you have to rely on the keyboard...

I have the same problem with an xbox controller and i cannot put markers even with a keyboard :(

oh wait i did not get it that i have to press longer E to put markers.
I thought it was a dualsense problem, but I also had markers randomly placed when I move left stick over the map, same thing for grabbing a piece of furniture in building mode, it seems they got mapping wrong for some controllers

This is happening for me now in the game. But it didn't happen in the demo
I don't even know what controller button is supposed to place a marker, but the marker radial keeps popping up randomly

Gulikit controller here. Seems like it happens with all kinds of controllers. I'll try restarting with steam input on

I somehow got it fixed by deleting the save folder and start without loading from the demo save, then the bug disappeared even after loading back the save data from the demo
I'm not sure what fixes that and I can't replicate the bug anymore, hope this works for you
