Fan service: I have a good feeling about this game.
I feel I should put a disclaimer first thing for the inevitable idiots who think I just play games to get off. I know there is more to a good game than fan service, but I still like to have it regardless. Now get lost.

During some of the combat footage, an up skirt shot of one of the characters can be seen. Some of the promo art for this game is also very spicy. If the inevitable outfit dlc is anything like the promo art, we're in for a treat! Also, big chested gyaru with the goods on full display. I think if this game leans into fan service as heavily as I expect it to, we can reasonably assume that Censorstation has removed, or at least greatly reduced its censorship requirements.

Ha ha! That's a good one and I'm 100% sincere.

I have NO idea what combat footage and promo art you're talking about but more power to you if that's what gets you off (I don't know what that means).

It's there for your perusal, peruse it as you see fit. Or whatever.

The promo art in question.

Also, in the trailer, one of the characters does a sort of flip or cartwheel during combat, and there is an uncensored view of what's under her skirt.

My official position is that I am against censorship, but I have become flexible over the years. That is because rejecting an entire game that is otherwise very good over say, not seeing some underwear seems pretty silly and short sighted to me. If they take something away, I can sort of overlook it if I am compensated with something that I consider to be equal to what was taken.

As an example, they put that stupid black void on a single DLC outfit in Ryza 3. It was just one outfit, and not even a good one. What we got was Ryza with a sexier figure and more cake than she's had in the other two games. Also, the boob jiggle is much more pronounced than it has been in previous games.

The fan service is nice, but that is not the only reason I play the Atelier games. The gameplay is fun, the crafting is enjoyable and rewarding, and I have been on a journey with these characters watching them grow, change, and form bonds with each other. That's worth dealing with a single black void, especially since it is compensated for in other ways.

Okay, I was a bit short in my opinion. I meant a censorship that takes away the allure and attractiveness of the characters. Like in western games where we have proper and attractive men and totally ugly women in... almost... most of the titles I've seen in the AAA and AA titles since 2015.

Lol, absolutely. I'm not really playing any western titles these days. Falling headlong into the Atelier rabbit hole.

Me too ;) I'm playing mostly eastern games for last... 5 years now? You have my respects for being considerate and paying to developers that provide good games without any inproper ♥♥♥♥.

What do you mean less sexualized? In Atelier Rorona, one of the first things you hear her master Astrid say is her implying she molested her in her sleep. You can put Rorona in some fairly revealing outfits right away. I hear Atelier Totori has a tentacle scene. Atelier Sophie had a number of characters sporting outfits that show cleavage. That church lady had a huge chest and prominent cleavage. The Atelier games from what I can tell have always had some degree of fan service and sexual content. Gust knows that stuff sells, so I don't see them stopping.

The difference is the frequency i didn't feel it was so in my face in the earlier games i just feel its a lot more in your face and less tasteful these days.

Don't mind it existing just wish it was more tasteful and not in your face like it was in Ryza.... sophie was also bad with it despite it being my favourite entry in the series since Rorona but it wasn't as bad imho.

Time will tell i just hope this isn't as in your face as Ryza.

I feel like that can be controlled to a degree though by choosing what outfits you put the characters in.

oh yeah for sure i'm probably worrying over nothing my fear is that they will see the whole Ryza interest due to thick thighs and big boobs and cleavage etc and slowly make the game more fan service heavy until it's unbearable to their old audience and the game is no longer cutesy.

Last time a series i loved got popular it went down that spiral to the point i just lost interest.
Rorona was a good balance imho same as totori fan service was mostly optional and specific outfits.

My bad feeling is more so a gut one i'm likely very wrong and they aren't heading down that direction to be honest.
Frankly time will tell and i can confidently say i'm likely going to be 100x wrong and my fears are over nothing but yknow bad gut feelings do bad gut feeling things.

Praying and hoping.

This years most anticipated game releasing this year for me because of the combination of fan service designs and good gameplay.
So many servicy steam games have great artwork but the gameplay barely passing the bar to be called gameplay or they are just VN´s or gacha games monetized to ♥♥♥♥.

In this day and age there´s not that many games where I can get some eye candy and good mechanics in a solid single player game.
