Funny thing is for me level 49 was more difficult to beat than the remaining levels. Level 9 was also harder to beat, but I did win in the end.
I feel there is an inconsistency between difficulty levels. Some levels appear to look easier than others irrespective of the difficulty increase.
Also, I think there are sometimes inconsistencies within difficulty levels. I might play a level twice and notice the computer is absolutely punishing, making no mistakes, and then in a third round the computer suddenly overlooks many obvious moves.

I beat level 100 twice today as White and Black. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=569723711
And this is the proof! ;)

Well I have to say that I have not seen much difficulty difference between any of the difficulties from level 16 to level 100. They all seems very similar to me and I am not that great of a chess player. But still I find the AI pretty weak. I have a free chess game on android as well. And that program is much harder to beat!
I finally found the time to play a few games and I thought I'd knock the rust off by starting at 10. It didn't offer a remote challege though, so I went to 50, but found it lacking as well. I was a bit shocked though when I went to 100 and found the board played almost identical to 50.
I got the game for the multiplayer (if I ever have the time), so I'm not disappointed with this, just somewhat surprised because your Reversi game was the exact opposite. In that game the highest difficulty level was much like a roaring tiger, where as here it's like a purring kitten. =)
1. Doesn't trade easy, if you make sure you can retalliate with equal value pieces he won't trade unless u force him to.
2. Can be forced into bad plays by check or by a stalemate aka put out all your pieces and cover every single piece.
3. Watch his queen and if you get the chance to trade queen vs queen you probably want to take it
4. if there are almost no pieces left he will make bad decisions aka if you are winning you win
