Familiars Feedback
I like that there are familiars in the game, and that they work similarly to the ones from Symphony of the Night.

However, I wish there was a way to actually see their stats/level/required exp.

And they should gain exp from enemies you defeat, instead of only those that they defeat. It's a pain to level them currently. Also, the fact that you don't get exp from enemies they defeat doesn't help, either.

Also, it'd be kinda nice if the stats of the hats that summon familiars would improve as their familiar levels up.

I only have the bird hat familiar, and on my single hand I can count how many times already it attacked, let alone killed anything.

The first few kills are painfully slow (I didnt even notice that it could level up at first) but after the first few levels it easier for it to get some kills and it will level up faster. My bird is now doing almost as much damage as I'm doing (per hit)

Wait untill you guys get the sword hat. The bird is godly compared to it.

It's actually worse than the SotN Sword Familiar.

We just realized the starting attack rating on the Sword Familiar was incorrect. Its been fixed in 1.0g, but if you've already gotten it, it may not take affect until you start a new game. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Out of curiosity, was it buffed or nerfed?

Nerfed, it got moved to a location farther into the game and didn't take that into account.
speaking of the sword hat, is it just me or is it incredibly inaccurate compared to the bird hat? the bird would usually hit what it tried to attack (other than its mildly annoying habit of stopping JUST before actually hitting the enemy), but the sword seems to just attack in completely random directions sometimes. it also tends to get stuck in that blue glow "enemy search" phase and just spins around multiple times and then attacks in the wrong direction. It's taking forever to train it because it misses more often than it hits. I was super excited when I found the hat since I figured it'd be a straight upgrade over the bird, but now I'm almost thinking about going back

The sword is really cool. I tried it when I got it and it's attack was significantly less than the bird (which was leveled up a good bit by then) so I put the bird hat back on. I honetly couldn't be bothered going around letting the sword (very slowly) kill things to level up.

That said, I'm glad that they become better at killing things as they get stronger. I noticed towards the end of my game, the bird was attacking a lot more frequently and so had become a lot more useful in combat. Especially since it was dealing about 60-70% of the dmg I was dealing.

I'm perfectly cool with how familiar xp is handled currently. Only things I'd like to see change is a way to view the familiars' stats, and to make the sword less useless. Watching it glow and rotate for 5 seconds and then shoot into dead air 20 feet away from any enemy is silly.

The familiars aren't that bad. As soon as I realized they only needed to land the finishing blow, I've been leveling them up in quick succession. I've got the sword hat on me and the moment it hit level 12 it's been attacking enemies a lot faster and in a 3 hit succession.
