Chasm
My game does not boot.
Like the title says my game does not run at all. It will say "running" then "sync" then nothing happens after that. I tried updating my drivers, Plugging a xbox controller also doing it wireless, did the Config.ini, re-installing and rebooting my computer but no bacon.

Anybody have the same problem? I really don't want to refund this game since i've waited for X ammount of years for this. please I need help.

If you follow these steps to view event viewer , do you see any errors for Chasm?

*Right* click on the start menu , click Event Viewer. On the left , click Windows logs then Application.

Until I figure out why this is happening , Try to goto the Chasm.exe example "D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Chasm" Then right click on chasm.exe and click "Run as Administrator" See if that works.

Also
If you have an Anti Virus, it might be blocking the game when it tries to make a save file in your MyDocuments\Chasm folder

OK! Bitdefender seems to be the culprit. I got mine running.

"Faulting application path: D:\Game files\Steam\steamapps\common\Chasm\Chasm.exe"

Line just confirms your advice. Thanks RoboDodd, I can finally enjoy this game!

Just a heads up, I submitted the game today to BitDefender to have this cleared up soon hopefully.

Has there been any update to a fix from BitDefender. It's 8/11 and I'm still not able to launch the game after trying to permit everything I can think of to keep Bitdefender from blocking it. At best the game will show its running for a couple seconds, then go to syncing and not open.

Sorry, we still haven't heard back from them unfortunately. I will see if there's someway to contact them.

You may also want to check the crashlog.txt in My Documents\Chasm just to make sure you have the same issue. We've also had some immediate crashes where the game was using Intel graphics instead of main GPU, etc.

Here's a *possible* solution: Temporarily disable BitDefender while you play Chasm.
