Light Sword and Shaman Axe kinda pointless?

I gotta say I got a little dissapointed with the Shaman Axe, all the other boss weapons (Wendigo's Claw aside) where so useful, but the Shaman Axe doesn't really have anything going for it apart from the other endgame weapons. The sword of light is also kind of a turn off since it is sort of a secret weapon, but it doesn't seem to have any interesting properties.

I think it's just meant to be fast? Like if there were elemental resistances then sure it'd likely work doing more holy damage but even that's not a thing.

Sure, but Trell's Sword is also fast as hell and has much better area coverage, and the difference in power is totally neglegible...and the Shaman's Axe is gotten much latter in the game.

I can still switch trell sword with anything by that point. Titan hammer, scimitar heck even assassin sword.

Who knows maybe the swing speed makes up for it but I'm sure not convinced it was worth not hit for it

The foward reach is the same as most final weapons, but that hit block above the head and behind the back is very useful, at least for my playstyle.

To be fair, the light sword is actually pretty fast, as some people noticed. But the Shaman Axe still seems pretty pointless. Maybe it would help to increase its attack by about 10 or to give it some magic property.

@Random The Shaman's Ax has a chance to cause bleeding on enemies, but after reviewing the code I found it to be pretty low. I've increased it for the next patch.

I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but I found the Sword of Light to be a top-tier weapon solely because of its unusually high speed. With good timing you can chain attacks together about twice as fast as other swords of that type. It's possible to jump and hit an aerial enemy three times before hitting the ground. Other weapons' attacks (like the Trell Sword) might come out fast but you can't chain them together nearly as fast (not counting "double attacks" where you attack again when hitting the ground).
