chasm menu bug

everytime i try to start chasm the menu shows up as a buggy mess of pixels it makes noises when i press buttons however i cannot start the game

Hi, sorry for the inconvenience! Could you please tell us any info about your hardware? The game requires Shader Model 3.0+, so please make sure if you have multiple GPUs that it's using your main one. You may also want to install the latest drivers for your GPU.

Thanks for the info. I remember another person on the forum had this issue, but I can't remember now how they resolved it. I'll take a look back through the posts and see if I can find it. You may also want to check that Bit Defender and Windows Defender aren't interfering with the game if you use them.

I remember that! They did say it was Windows Defender conflicting with it.

Also an advice: if you got Avast! or any antivirus which has the following features:
Hardened Mode
Scan for Potentially Unwanted Programs

I advise disabling those features or putting the game(s) in the exclusion list. One is VERY aggressive and sometimes forces a program to close just because it captures inputs when running in the background, while the other actually compares the program with a reputation database of sorts and blocks programs with low or undefined reputation.
