I got stuck with my last card on my last run (Silver Extravagance) for nearly 20 days, using all my piety stuff to keep from losing the game. Eventually an event popped up to let me get rid of any card for free, which let me win that way. Otherwise I think you have to target one of the other kinds of victories (rebellion, escape), or give up.
also what is the "Qais investigation" ?
Thanks
"I, the solitary one" is a quest that comes up if you think on a bronze or stone conquest card. It lets you go on a small solo mission into the mountains to break the card.
The Qais investigation refers to a series of quests. After you help Qais (the younger prisoner) out of the prison, you will get an event about a woman and child having gone missing. If you choose to investigate, you will get a quest to send one of the followers for an investigation, and they will lead you to a house. If you haven't killed Qais and you're on good terms (the quest might work without him, haven't tried it that way though) he will join the investigation, and he will basically ask you to use a conquest card as a search warrant to be able to search the house. Completing this story line also gets you Qais as a follower and it's also a fate shop achievement.
