Golden Extravagance

I had a really good run going, but unfortunately it died when I had two cards left, one of which was a golden extravagance (the other was golden carnality, but now that I know that your wife can be "upgraded" with jewelry and you can go after the Sultan's Harem, that shouldn't be such a problem.) But the golden extravagance is an issue. I know about the random event with the bird, that if you get a golden treasure (only accessible randomly through inventions?) you can make an extravagant display hall for it, and with some foresight you can break it to renovate your home (I had thought silver was the highest possible for this).
In general any tips for breaking extravagance cards would be nice. They are consistently the biggest pain in my butt, even when I have money to burn.

The researcher Mahir can produce a golden air balloon for you if you do the "long-term research" quest cycle with her (repeatedly). You can think on the balloon to trigger the "build air balloon platform" event which can break the golden extravagance. The order by which she produces items is random but the balloon is in the drawing queue.

You can use it to upgrade your estate, I always like to get them early to set up my income, just give it to the skull and an event for renovation will pop up.

In general any tips for breaking extravagance cards would be nice. They are consistently the biggest pain in my butt, even when I have money to burn.

It's interesting cause I find Extravagance ones to be pretty much non-issues, but really struggling with Conquest/Bloodshed of silver and gold (golden conquest is still a complete mystery to me after a two full games of breaking *almost* every card and a few runs just to test the mechanics).

- Never waste renovations on stone or bronze; it can done only once, so not only you waste an opportunity to break a high-level sultan card, but also stuck with a lower-income renovation and rent room. It's optimal to use a golden card on that, but waiting for gold extravagance may took too long, so silver is ok too
- You can consistently break any extravagance up to Silver in public house by doubling the payment
- You can break bronze and stone cards with Super Charity event, which becomes available when methinking them AFTER you've done renovations
- Apart from renovations, most reliable solutions for golden extravagance are golden bird and Mahir's air balloon mentioned earlier (Mahir is a pretty good extravagance solver overall, since funding her can be an extravagance act by itself, and then a few of her inventions can be used to break another one)
- There are several events where someone comes to you asking for money (children, con guys, etc). In most cases agreeing will lead to an option that satisfies Extravagance

Also I'm not sure what's the conditions of these two, but:
- Fadrak's appearance event (Sultan's prank it's called iirc) can be used to break at least Silver extravagance (but maybe even gold, not sure)
- In "Unreliable Ally" event (when Nabhani temporarily leaves you) I think you should be able to break any card up to Silver tier, although I'm not clear what are the conditions of him appearing in the first place (though it consistently happened to me every time so they are probably not that tight - possibly just breaking a few cards.

Aside from the golden bird, the balloon, the house innovation, you can also use it in the 3rd round of the dog fight event. It only lasts 1 turn and you need 50 gold.
The silver extravagance is much easier. You can break it with the telescope (invention), the silver class public house, the prince (he will become a follower), the tapestry bought from the exotic goods trader (the most reliable one), or the gold class swordsman bar fight event.
