Can I kill the sultan and remain in the good path?
No Batman moralism here, killing one genocidal to save people doesn't make a person evil, it's bitter necessity. So, is a happy ending possible with the sultan dead?

Idk about the highest definition of "good ending", but my latest gave me "one of the happiest endings" according to the note at the end. I killed the sultan but gave the throne to Nawfal and vizier to Faradak, whom I had married to Lumera. It gave me a lot of "where are they now" moments, settling down on a farm with Maggie, visited by Zaki Fatuna Lumera and at least a few others who I can't recall at the moment.
Killed him and became sultan myself - still happy ending. The final slides most likely depend on the choices made during that run and at the very end on who you elevated and who you executed (and the execution does not always end with the death of the character, for example, if you put Shama in the execution slot, she will simply cut off her pi-pi, funny).
As long as he and his main allies die, it's a good ending.
My happiest ending was giving Zazie the throne with Nawfal as assistant. My wife and I disappeared from the court to live a quiet and happy life together in some small corner of the country. Lumera wasn't with us, for I helped her ascend to godhood. Faraj returned to his homeland and occasionally writes to me. The vanity noble was furious I didn't become sultan and attempted to assassinate my wife multiple times until I dealt with her myself.
good enough ending. I put the one certain outspoken prisoner on the vizier position.

I haven't achieved it yet, but I want to assume it's possible to have a good ending with you as ruler. I think the trick is to maintain a balance of reformist and traditional stats when choosing leader and assistant. I got assassinated 77 days into rulership on my first attempt, and I'm chalking that up to being greatly reformist.
reformist and traditional are hidden stats right?

No. You can see it when it's time to choose leader and assistant.

It will show up on the right when you are making the decisions, and the MC's stats are determined by the choices about who to promote/prosecute on the previous day (which does require a bit of guess work).
It must be a hairline balance then. I had 9 Reformist, 6 Traditional and still got the 77-day long rulership ending.
Just checked and yeah... the difference between Reform and Traditional has to be *less* than 2 for Arzu being Sultan to work out. It should be noted it can be less than 2 in *either* direction though.

There also seem to be two different endings for Reform > Traditional depending on if Golden Conquest card is used or Regicide Plot, that's cool!
