Anyone managed to beat the game?

Got pretty much lucky with a lot of bronze/silver cards, had great economy and too many ritual cards in hand but screwed myself over with the expedition by putting my protag in without expecting it to last a week. I'm not sure how you're supposed to gather more rebel intents or the key to escape the area. Also have no idea how you're supposed to get the dark magic stuff unlocked as I had ritual that needed it. I was thinking it was related to the royal library(only got normal rituals so far) or the oasis which needed a conquest card.

I suspect you can get dark magic from allying with the heretic, but haven't tried it yet.

I managed to find out you can get the location for escape by successfully helping the explorer lady in all of her expeditions. Still havent found out how to find the method to escape which I think is the key to the city or something along the lines

You get dark magic stuff by recruiting the magic lady rather than turning her in. Once you have dark magic yourself, you can turn her in. I don't know if this cuts out a number of options for later game.

I just played a massively long game. Book shop stopped selling books. The market merchant ran out of most items. All of the prostitutes are either dead or my concubines. I eventually lost because there were no events capable of consuming my cards. Nothing happened in my game any more.

I have not managed to find the key to the gate to escape.

I have not managed to find a way to attack the Sultan without having my head chopped off, even though everybody was converted to be my occultist and/or supporter against the Sultan. I'm not sure what else I was supposed to do.

I've managed to escape (and I think I was on the road lead a revolt as well), I've got the key by using silver carnality on the silver concubine (the mad one) and later by talking to the guard (got the location with the expedition as well).

There are 3 ways I beat the game so far, and none include the Cult. You win by killing Sultan, escaping or simply resolving all the cards. I think the hardest thing I have done is have all 3 horses races won (not random ones, but the chain), because obtaining 3 horses is also a feat.

You can also escape the city. The inventor is helpful there.

If you put the inventor into 'thinking', she produces non-quest inventions. One of those is a drill that can be used instead of a palace key.
I gave her 20 gold in funding; maybe that was what made the drill possible.

She can also make a Big Bomb that does the same. I don't think i ever gave her 20 gold, it's just a matter of high roll.
