Christie might lose her top tier status in Last Round. Even then, I never had a problem with Christie players since she is easily one of the hardest characters to learn and master in the DOA5 games.
I will not argue that she is hard to master though.
As opposed to the Ninja characters who are oh so balanced right? Where should I start with them? 'Busa with the teleports & being one of 2 ninja characters with an unbreakable 3 part hold (there are 4 charcters with 3 part unbreakable holds, none of which is a grappler & 2 of those 4 being ninja characters). Kasumi with the fastest hits in the game, only surpassed by Alpha 152 (Christie is admittedly Kasumis equal here, but only with jabs, unless they change her for LR). Hell, Gen Fu is argueably higher tier then Christie is in DoA5U.
I don't know about Phase 4 since I didn't buy her, but I merely stated that Christie was one of the hardest characters to master, not the hardest. I pointed that out because the person I quoted earlier intimated that people could get easy wins just by picking Christie due to her top tier status.
Christie isn't top tier AND braindead like Kokonoe was upon being released in Chrono Phantasma. Using Christie without knowing what one is doing can get her punished like a dog that crapped in the house because she can be unsafe, easy to predict and hold, and she lacks good holds and throws.
