Any idea if original Japanese voiceover included?
Watched this Gamespot preview video of the game, and found the english voice-over to be terrible (as usual) anyone knows if this port supports the ability to switch to original japanese voice-over? thanks.

Yes they are. It's indicated on the store page and PS3 ultimate version had this too.

So what do you make of Logan Thackeray's voice, then?
Kite Jan 25, 2015 @ 5:58am
Troy Baker is voice actor for GW2 Logan Thackeray character.
He also does english voice of Rya Hayabusa character in DOA5.

I love his voices. My preference is english audio; so I don't have to read subtitles. I'm glad there's japanese audio for those who prefer that.

That's the joke. Wonder how TC can explain about an actor that suddenly becomes "terrible" when there's another language track to dub over. Don't you just love double standards?

There is voice language option in audio menu, just like in other versions of DoA and all Ninja Gaiden games.

It's under Settings --> Languages --> Voices --> Japanese. I only played DOA 2 before this one and I couldn't get used to Kasumi speaking in English :D

Some of the English voices are ok, such as Christie, and Helena. But some are horrible like Lei-fang, Ayane (her acting is fine but I think she misunderstood the character)

Japanese voice has the best immersion if you use Japanese characters, I wish they had individual toggle per character (Tina speaking Japanese is really funny though)

Hey that could be a great mod, I hope someone could do that.
Moga CMDR May 4, 2015 @ 5:19am
I thought the fake French accent on the English Helena was miserable.

The English Tina is one of the few English voices I recall actually thinking was pretty good. But the Japanese Tina is absolutely a blast. She's having so much fun.

Sometimes I think the game needs that character specific language toggle like we have on SF, but I'm so used to the Japanese cast over all these years I don't know I would change too many of them.
I also noticed that some characters only have English Voiceovers. I set it to Japanese, but then one character kept speaking in English while the others spoke in Japanese. I got used to Tina speaking Japanese from DOA 2, so it didn't really bother me, but having character specific language control would be amazing

Those were probably the Virtua Fighter characters. If you set the game to English Pai still talks in Japanese. The Virtua Fighters only have one sound file, AFAIK.

My only reason for setting the voices to Japanese would be if i knew what they were saying, but since i don't understand Japanese, and i am pretty freaked out by how ridiculously childish grown women sound in Japanese cartoons, i see no reason to even try and set it on Japanese. I'd rather listen to something i can actually understand.

That's one of the reasons i absolutely can't stand the Virtua Fighter characters. They sound like their voices were recorded on a 1995 tape recorder... That and the fact that that blond prick Jacky has this anoying as hell auto block trick when you punch him. I really hate that guy...

Although with Sarah i love it when, right after she says "I'm no push over, sweety" i give her the biggest punch, and make her eat floor.

You're no push-over? Nice to meet you, i'm Batgirl!

AFAIK, the auto-block only works against mid-, and high punches. I kick him, and if it connects, then punch. A friend of mine had trouble fighting Jacky on single player, legendary difficulty. She was using Honoka. So, to help her, I recorded a quick match against Jacky on legendary using Honoka myself. I'm no Honoka fighter, so the moves are pretty basic but work against the computer. Unfortunately the video recording is lagging, but you can still see what I did.
