(Newbie) DoA. No Customizable Character ?
I'm new to DoA series, as I'm a PC base. But I knew that Soul Calibur series had the customizable character. Either create new char or customize the Heroes attire.
So, no for DoA ?

Personal Opinion :
Isn't this proving a fact that Tecmo money source are selling from DLC costumes ? That lead to why they hating modders community ? So it's not about Moral & Manners ? but it's about Money & Monarchy ?

AFAIK you cannot do that. But you can't do that in Street Fighter either.

In this the customization you have is like changing some hairstyles, or removing hats, or taking an article of clothing away like a cape or armor, or adding glasses to a character, or choosing different underpants for female characters when they got like skirts on.

It all depends on the character and costume.

Hang on a second. You are "PC base" [sic!], so you don't play on console, right? Yet you do not have the icon next to your Steam name, meaning you don't have the game in your library. So on what platform are you actually playing?

There is an earlier PC version of DOA called DOA Online, which allows for customization. But you have to buy and gamble for the characters/cloth/costimizations.

All games I play are Installed on my brother PC, because his are i7 while mine are dual core-laptop. And I play DoA PC version.

Ah, okay. yeah, I get that. my brother plays on a desktop too while I use a laptop.

So you can't really modify your character aside from what was mentioned already, haircut, shades, underwear.

I feel that their hefty dlc profits have little to do with the lack of "create a character". I would think such a feature would be nothing less than a gold mine. Imagine all the crap they could sell for your created character. Hell, I would even buy **** to suit my needs. "Oh these overpriced glasses would look badass on my fighter chick". They could sell mini skirts and buckets of other crap that us many fools will rob old ladies for.

Custom characters require a lot of development work. It's one of the reasons the last Soul Calibur cut so much of the game out...

Not having custom characters has nothing to do with "monarchy" but certainly budgeting.

Custom characters are from soul calibur 3 to 5 only. You cant do that in doa. You can only change hairstyles and glasses. If there was a character creator, I would have made a male character with Honoka's move set and named him as "Freakshow".

Soul Calibur's custom character creation is AWESOME, but unfortunately it's unique. I don't know of another fighting game that does anything like it, so you can't blame DOA for being "normal".

DOA's still my favorite fighting game, though.

It's true you can't customize the characters other than the costumes that are unlockable in the game, or through buying DLC.

Tecmo probably has the same fears about their game on PC as any other developer: Piracy and Mod Cheating.

I honestly think they are less worried about the nude mods than about cheaters ruining the community. Why not say they are worried about cheaters? Not sure, but I'm thinking it might be a reason why the online mode was delayed on PC.

It would be cool to see more character customization in the game. Perhaps that will be the big feature update for DOA6 (hoping they'll make it).

Custom characters are incompatible with a waifu-based DLC plan.

I'm watching Total Biscuit Review for DoA 5 LR. By the time this game got online capable, this game could be already forgotten by majority of players. This game is cool, definitely, but only hardcore fans will stay install this game for more than 1 month. It's don't have good replayable complex story system. Story mode chart/legend is a joke. Why make it like a complex story while in truth, it just a straight line story.

So, playing TAG and Arcade over and over again (without story value in hand) and try to open each character costume per finishing an arcade or tags are rubbish. I don't have a friends to play this game as their are FPS or RPG base players. So I can only play this game with my brother, but only occasionally and it only stay for 10 matches.

This game should have been delayed until they have Online capability, because Online is the strong point of this game. And as I mention above, in Total Biscuit review, when finally DoA 5 LR open Online server, this game already forgotten from most its players, and only hardcore fans are stay to play.

you don't play fighting games for story mode. I don't care what generation it is, you play fighting games for the combat...

The story modes are filler, always. Some are just better than others. But in this case I actually find the silly story servicable. Gave me something else to do for a bit.

If they wanted to spend more money on the game, investing more in the story would be tragic.

And honestly, it was always expected that only the core gamers would be left after a month or two. Not sure where the surprise is. Even if online was up now, I would expect most people to move along after a few weeks.
