Players DO play DoA 5 online its just insanely rare also prepare to be blasted to shreds unless your a hardened Veteran the only player I've faced thus far was a Rachel in a revealing Death metal costume who was aggressive as all hell that blasted me to shreds. Nobody else has shown up hot female character or otherwise so far. If you want matches its mostly Arcade or Offline modes.

Its possible to get players Online but typically unless you want very infrequent semi professional Dead or Alive players you will need to recruit friends as the playerbase of Dead or Alive 5 is shockingly small.
