About Lisa (la Mariposa)
Is she ... good? Because I've been testing her out lately, only in Arcade mode though, she seems to have a limited option to causing Critical Burst given her CB kick takes longer to input the command and animation seems slow as well, at least compared to other fighters. Thus I almost never get a CB using that kick, and can only get a reliable CB from her back-facing stance one, which is 7P.

The problem is, she is kind of hard to go into back-facing stance. My usual go-to is the PP4 combo, because PPP4 seems to take too long on the final punch. Now, my issue with her when it comes to CB-ing is a lot of her moves will spin her back around to facing forward again, or kicks her opponent away thus removing the CB option.

The other CB combos I discovered are:

KKK, 7P (if I time this wrong, it ends up becoming KKKP, which I found the final punch can whiff, which is really annoying...)
1PP, 4P+K, 7P (1PP to go into back-facing, 4P+K to do a butt attack, 7P to CB)

Problem with all of these CB combo starters is all the attacks have to land, or else there won't be enough damage to get the CB going.

I normally play Ayane the most and she is very reliable when it comes to trying to get a CB off.

The other problems with Lisa is sometimes when I do 4P+K (butt attack) when opponent is against a wall, somehow I get my position swapped with the opponent. What the hell is that? I've never seen this before with any other character. The butt attack clearly doesn't swap positions with the opponent, this only happens when the latter has their back up against a wall.

And then, her OHs (Offensive Holds)... Sometimes they don't seem to register against incoming high and mid attacks. I try to counter Jann Lee this way and sometimes his P+K just punches straight through my 66T (which is Lisa's OH). I have the combo list open and it shows I completed my 66T input, and I even see the animation starting. But Jann Lee's P+K elbow attack just punches through as if I didn't do anything.

And then sometimes I do successfully counter the elbow attack.

One thing I noticed is when I tested with Tina, she practically 100% of the time counters Jann Lee's P+K. Whereas Lisa only does this 50% of the time.

And then, Lisa doesn't actually have as many throws as I thought she would. Her Deja-Vu throw combo is too hard to pull off, and even when I do succeed, it doesn't do as much damage as her other throw.

Lisa has some trick moves but sometimes they just end up with her whiffing. Like her KK(P+K)HT. Half the time even when I succeed with the (P+K)H portion of this combo, when I press T Lisa ends up vaulting over her opponent and then initiates her throw in that same direction, causing it to completely miss and turn into a double vault. Yet sometimes she executes the throw by vaulting back towards the opponent and execute the throw properly.

And then some of her combos, such as her KKP-whatever else; her first 2 kicks are fine, but the first P in this combo just makes her vault forward, and rather slowly as well, making her a total sitting duck during that entire time.

Online guides say she is a cross between Tina and Zack. Really? I hate using Tina and I feel like she just beats Lisa in everything by countering strikers; I am alright with using Zack and Zack just beats out everything Lisa can offer. I really have no idea how exactly Lisa works as a fighter.

Is she mid or long-range fighter etc...? The only thing I like her for right now is her kicks are very unpredictable, vs AI anyway.

Lisa is a very tricky character to play against, AI experience will not really tell you much, she has OH options where she jumps, meaning you cannot grab her nor low punch her, she is not a bad character.

I think she is very good at long range since she can move away as easily as she comes in, maybe not as good as Ayane, but Ayane does not have running OHs.

Her mix up game is very strong with the back stance swap at will, you can even use it as a feint, and believe me it works and that's something you cannot do against AI, you cannot fool the AI after all, you can only exploit it.

Letting you know we have a group running games everyday, we have players from all levels and we have people that can teach you everything you need to know in case you wanna learn more about the game. You are welcome to join, we are mostly NA, add me if you are interested.

Thanks for your offer. I noticed your invitation to other players in other threads, it's just that you guys are mostly NA and I'm nowhere near you, so it will be hard to get a good ping between us.

Sadly I'm in a very isolated part of the planet, haha.

sad news, we need faster than light internet asap, or a cable through the center of the planet for shortcut.

Anyways any doubts you have on the game mechanics reach me out, I will answer as best as I can.

Yeah no problem. I expected that I wouldn't be able to play with other people ever since I bought DOA5:LR. Or any fighting game for that matter... Arcade mode has entertained me for over 300 hours now over the last few years.
