How exactly did Kasumi kill Raidou in DOA 1?

I mean the original one, not the story shown in "DOA: Dimensions". She didn't have the Torn Sky Blast in the original and I've heard she did it (won) by herself.

Some people know the details of the original series (Hayabusa winning the 2nd Tournament by solo defeating Tengu, Ayane solo killing Genra in the 3rd one, Helena giving the title of winner of the 4th Tournament to Zack ...), but unfortunately I've no idea where they aquired them. Did Itagaki say something or what? The cutscenes don't really say much.

It's primarily through books of the lore and questions to Itagaki. DOA1 she killed Raidou, that's all that's ever really explained. DOA++ in the Japanese version would have dialog exchanges via text between the combatants at the final fight (Bass v Tina and Kasumi v Raidou for example).

Hayabusa was the one who beat Tengu in DOA2.

Itagaki said himself that Ayane defeated Genra, but she didn't win the tournament - Gen Fu did (and used the money to have the operation for Mei Lin).

Thing to keep in mind with DOA story is outside of the first tournament, there's the "Ninja Arch" and the "Tournament Arch". For example, Bass and Hayate never really meet, because the Ninjas actually aren't part of the tournament itself in DOA3 and are off looking for Genra while fighting DOATEC in general.

This is further shown in DOA5 where you have the combatant characters Leifang, Jann Lee, Hitomi, Bass, Tina, Mila, Kokoro, and Eliot in the tournament story parts, and the ninjas are doing their own thing.

I would say that Kasumi killed Raidou through sheer luck. Otherwise it would have been near impossible to kill him. He is like the DOA version of taskmaster . He can copy your moves within seconds. He does have an extensive knowledge of Mugen Tenshin. Same martial art that Hayate, Kasumi, and Ayane trained from the dishwash jazzhands school of ninjitsu.

Sad to say that DOA 1 doesnt have endings so its very vague. Left to interpretation through the power of imagination to piece things together. Ending cutscenes started at DOA 2. DOA series wasnt meant to be taken seriously the first time it came out. Its just there for 2 supple things. DA BEEEEWBS!

I've always tried to look at DOA story instead of the breasts of the female characters... maybe 'cause I'm more addicted to legs?
Anyway, I think the 1st Tournament was the thing. I mean, it looks like some old, chinese martial arts flick a lot as we have good vs. evil, fate, revenge... and the main heroine is my favourite beauty Kasumi! I don't really feel all that on such a level in the next games of the series, but first of all, I'm much confused about this whole cloning thing. That's why my favourite game after DOA1 is DOA3. It brings back this This is my Destiny feel.

The head of DOATEC (Fame Douglas) is into some damn Kasumi fetish! He cloned so many Kasumis with the help of Lisa and his daughter Helena.I m guessing that these clones are supposed to be deployed as bioweapons and sold to the highest bidder. Phase 4 and Alpha 152 are the result of perfection through trail and error experimentation.

Not sure how he gotten hold of the Kasumi DNA.Though it is possible that he got some samples off Raidou's corpse. Hence that explains how Raidou became the 6 million dollar man.

But thats just a guess! An educated stab in the dark if you will.In reference to all 5 games together. Admit it! The reason why we all got into DOA3 was this...

Kasumi is one! Her compassion, care and mercy are her trademarks. These clones are just poor copies, there's nothing original in being a b.a.d.a.s.s. in modern times, now every fool can make a superweapon or a supersoldier!
Although, there's something in Phase 4...

But I'm afraid. Now, when Itagaki is gone, Team Ninja is making some drastic changes to Kasumi. I'm afraid they might make Ayane 2.0 out of her, an another cold-hearted assassin and NG3:RE only strengthened my fears. Thank God it's not the actual canon/story if it comes to her gameplay debut there.

Well, I like DOA3 because of the graphics - mostly character design - the climatic final boss and nice cutscenes. Aside of what I've written above.

PS3 controller? Cool! It's the most comfortable way, it's a very good one. Before I've played DOA on PS3 exactly. But how to make it work on Steam? I don't want to mess with another 3rd party programs, files ect. I think I'll buy one of those supported by Steam, but I don't know if I should choose the Xbox360 or Valve one? They both don't look promising.

Hmmmm....welll you do have to download xbox controller driver, motioninjoy, and better ds3 programs to make the ps3 controller work. If you dont like that then go ahead and get the steam controller to save you the aggrivation.

Its funny though. Ayane was exiled by the village elders due to the fact that Raidou um...had forcable intercourse without consent to Kasumi's mother thus giving birth to her. Yet when Kasumi went rogue and became a shinobi who did the village elders turn to kill Kasumi? Why its Ayane and Hayate of course! Its ironic times like these in the story that make wanna go wolf down a bucket of cheese flavoured popcorn.

Its hard to tell which Kasumi is the real one due to her clones. Even when you ask them who the real one is, everyone of them will standup. They retain the memories of the original one after all. The side effect is that whoever bought them could have a different experience than the original. God knows one of the buyers could have some filthy mcnasty crap going on that involves a tub of butter, squids the size of a Kraken from the DND games, Oktoberfest sausages, and a polka band with one of the Kasumi clones. But I digress.

I wish the story could have been better written. Instead we got to piece them together game by game. If it was executed properly, we could have a good and strong story that could be on par or rival with the Tekkenverse and King Of Fighters Orochi saga. Welp we just gotta make do with the material presented to us. X.x

Douglas was killed at the end of DOA1. Keep in mind that DOA1, 2, 3, and 4 happen all within a 2 year span. and it's been 2 years (i believe) since DOA4 when DOA5 starts.

Bayman's job in DOA1 was to kill Douglas by Donovan. Donovan then wanted to kill Bayman to tie up loose ends, which introduced Christie.

The purpose of DOA1 was to find the toughest martial artist and then use their DNA to clone soldiers for sale with such power. Pretty typical fighting tournament plot in that regard. They got Kasumi's blood from the battlefield/stage where she fought Raidou.

According to the doa 1 manual, a mysterious organization sent a request to Ryu Hayabusa to kill Bayman. The details are vague whether this same organization has ties to Fame Douglas or Donovan. This is up for discussion whether or not Ryu accepted or refuse the order to assassinate Bayman.

Ken Hayabusa is Ryu's dad! Not Joe! I guess consistancy isnt Tecmo/Koei strength. Ninja Gaiden 1 NES anyone?!

If you have an english version of the doa 3 manual. Please share the details in it. I got the Spanish copy of the manual. I can read a little but I m not fluent with Spanish.

Yeah, I just want to plug it in (the controller) and be happy with the game. So which one should I choose? Valve, Xbox360 or Xbox One, which one is the most compatible with PC and DOA5? This is the first time I'm going to use a pad on a computer.

I agree. The story should be written better and I'd love to see a new remake of the series, like Dimensions, but this time more faithful to Itagaki's vision. I like Dimensions, by the way. It's also nice to the eye. To be honest, I can't recall any DOA game I don't like.

Hey, you guys what do you think? Will Kasumi kill Donovan in DOA6? Will she do it with cold blood, because of what he has done to her? I wonder if Donovan - the main bad guy - is a fighter himself? Is he like inconspicuous Shao Kahn or will he need to pull out some bio-enhancements to match the ninjas.

I'm obsessed with Kasumi and her kind nature. When I encounter some compassionate character in anime, movie or game I always ask myself a question:
When she/he will give up and kill somebody without caring?
'Till now Kasumi has killed only Raidou and it was quite justified (but still a bit unfair, 'cos later it turned out that Hayate is alright).

To answer at least this question: Use an official wired xbox 360 pad. Third party 360 pads don't work correctly with DOA5. All you'll need to do is download the drivers for the pad (which should download automatically when you plug it in)

I play with hayate (my main) and ayane, so I pretty much know their story, but to sum it all up:

Ayane is Hayate's half sister, and Kasumi is his full blooded sister. While growing up, ayane was an outcast of the ninja clan due to her being half blood (odd looking, lower end of the clan, etc..). Hayate and Kasumi are pretty much the royal bloods of the clan (Heir and Heiress for clan leadership,etc..) As a child, Hayate was the only one in the village that treated her like a friend, so ayane started looking to him as a best friend, boyfriend, lover, etc.. When ayane grew up, she was told that the boy/man (hayate) that she had been loving, admiring, she had a crush on was actually her half brother and that they were all related (hayate,kasumi, and herself) and that she was pretty much the thrown away child of rape and regret. Kasumi, and Hayate's father is named "Shiden" who was clan leader which makes hayate and kasumi next in line for ownership of the clan. Hayate's, kasumi's, and Ayane's mother was raped by raidou (who is also a disgraced runaway shinobi), which is ayane's actual dad, but hayate and kasumi's uncle, and Shiden's brother. Again, which makes ayane the half blood sister.

Before ayane was told, she had a strong hatred towards kasumi. Why? Because she was the heiress to the clan, she was pretty, she was a good fighter, everyone adored kasumi, and she saw her as a threat to the relatioinship she has with hayate. Although brother and sisters, in ayane's little twisted head, she also views kasumi as another woman trying to still the attention of her so called man (hayate). After the brother/sister revelation, ayane still view hayate as that friend she had growing up, and to some extend I think she actually prefer him being her lover brother than just her friend. Now the reason why kasumi is being hunted by ayane and hayate is that their village has a strong like code of honor of running from the clan.

I can't remember exactly, but i think hayate was captured by DOATEC after he got injured with a fight with Raidou. They performed experiments on him to create the ultimate weapon named project Epsilon. Kasumi ran away from the clan to find out what happened to hayate, and to rescue him. After kasumi ran of to look for him, this was against the clan's order and now she is hunted because she broke the oath of not leaving when told to stay. Seeing that this is the perfect chance to get rid of kasumi and have hayate for herself, ayane jumped on this with the quickness in light of thinking her world would be perfect. she thinks that she can have hayate for herself, the clan will view her as a hero, and no more annoying kasumi, who has been a pain in her ass every since she has been a child. Thats pretty much it! I hope that answers your question accurately.

The whole franchise is weird but more or less is like this:

Kasumi: The forced protagonist of the story that due to her lack of personality and tsundere attitude don´t actually appeal to fans is like Chris Redfield.

Ayane: The girl that the Fans of DoA actually see like the most relevant character of the franchise and by a wide margin, she is the most popular DoA character alongside Hayabusa.

Ryu Hayabusa: He have his own franchise (Ninja Gaiden) but he also own a whole secondary franchise dedicated to make him look good.... it´s called "Dead or Alive"

Hayate: Sexually ambiguous and Incestuous brother that just like Kasumi had been forced to be relevant to the story without a lot of success either.

Helena: Another big fish of the franchise and main character of the story... except the fact that she is actually an adult and is discriminated and receive less and less costumes every year alongside Christie.

All the Other Males: Comic Relief except Jean Lee that is also a jobber, basically a Yamcha or Vegeta for Hayabusa to look good.

All other Girls: Just eye candy filler.
